Luke Combs is Giving Garth Brooks a Run For His Money

Garth Brooks has set some impressive records across his country music career, but “Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma” singer Luke Combs is closing in on one of his most coveted accolades. The “Friends in Low Places” performer has long held the title of best-selling country singer of all time, and Combs is hot on his heels.

As Whiskey Riff reported, Combs recently received a stunning 34 new certifications from the RIAA. He’s now one of the best-selling artists ever, and the second-best-selling country artist of all time. Although he’s still trailing Brooks by roughly 7 million units, Combs’ latest achievements are truly noteworthy.

Brooks still holds the best-selling country artist crowd, but this year’s RIAA certifications led Combs to a new first for the genre. He received a diamond certification for “She Got The Best Of Me,” a single from his 2017 album, “This One’s For You.” The song represents his fourth diamond-certified track of all time, giving him more of these hard-to-achieve certifications than any other country singer.

However, this diamond award isn’t the only new certification Combs earned for his 2017 record. As of June 2025, “This One’s For You” has now been certified platinum seven times, making it one of the most successful albums of his career so far.

Despite his incredible momentum in the sales department, Combs is taking the rest of 2025 to focus on his top priorities. In May, he took to Instagram with a heartfelt, honest post letting fans know what the year has in store for him. “I just want to be home as much as I can where I can see my boys grow up and them know how important they are to me,” the singer wrote.

Combs has two young sons, Tex and Beau, with his wife, Nicole. In the post, he thanked his fans for understanding and supporting his choice to put his family first. “I thank y’all for giving me the opportunity to change things up and not do my own tour while still knowing how much y’all mean to me,” he wrote. The singer will still make appearances at several music festivals throughout the rest of the year, and is reportedly working on new music.
