Luke Combs Announces New Single ‘Back in the Saddle’

Luke Combs is back in action and better than ever! The country singer is ready to hit the radio airwaves again with his highly anticipated new single, “Back in the Saddle.” Fans can expect the song to hit streaming sites on July 25th, just in time for another ride on the lake.

The single is set to bring Combs back to his original roots, as some can tell by the snippets he’s shared online. It seems like we’re all going to be transported back to “What You See Is What You Get!” Who could forget how much of a hit “Beer Never Broke My Heart” was? It’s a song full of high energy that concertgoers still love going wild for.

The Return of Luke Combs

Since rising to fame, Combs has become a staple in the music world. His blend of heartfelt ballads, touching lyrics, as well as party anthems has earned him a devoted following. Let’s not forget about his numerous accolades that keep on adding up to this day. Known for his distinctive, raspy voice, Combs has solidified his place in country music history since he began. Hands down, the singer is a well-known powerhouse in the genre.

His fourth album, “Gettin’ Old,” was met with both critical and commercial success thanks to its unique singles. It featured major hits like Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car,” which took him straight to the #1 charts. It easily proved how he can truly create something from the past and make it his own. It was followed by his 2024 release, “Fathers & Sons,” which featured hits such as “The Man He Sees in Me” and “All I Ever Do Is Leave.”

It’s no secret that Combs has become a fan favorite. Not only for his musical talents but also for his down-to-earth nature. With over two billion Spotify streams and three certified Diamond singles to his name, Combs continues to prove why he’s at the top of his game.

A Plethora of Collaborations

Fans have been eagerly waiting for new music from Combs for a while now. His recent release was with singer and songwriter Jon Bellion in “Why,” where they bonded about fatherhood.

This song came after Combs had revealed he was taking a short break from touring. The singer revealed he was focusing on festivals for a bit in order to finish his album. So yes, fans are more than ready for new music, and “Back in the Saddle” is expected to satisfy that craving.

In addition to “Why,” earlier this year, he also announced a collaboration with Bailey Zimmerman. The song quickly made its way to the top thanks to its high-energy beat and feel-good lyrics. “Backup Plan” has already made major headlines, climbing to No. 12 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart. The song went extra viral after it was announced it would be used by ESPN. This is part of the hype for the 2025 SEC football season, proving Combs has continued to influence both the music and sports worlds, which he has been known to do.

The collaboration with Zimmerman is a natural fit, to say the least. Both artists share a similar style. They are known for mixing traditional country with a fresh, modern edge, especially with Zimmerman freshly entering the game. Fans can expect the two to perform the song at various events, which makes it even more exciting for those who aren’t too familiar with their work. And for those who are, let’s hope they put on a good show for all of us. But let’s be real, we know it’s going to be nothing short of great!

As Combs works on his next album, it’s clear that he’s been spending time perfecting his sound. 2025 promises to be another year of major accomplishments for the artist, and we can’t wait to see what’s next.

Listen to “Back in the Saddle” on Friday, July 25.
