Luke Bryan Teams Up With Raising Cane’s to Celebrate $1 Million Donation

Luke Bryan set aside his country boots and picked up a shift at Raising Cane’s to support The Brett Boyer Foundation.

The “American Idol” judge served meals, took orders from behind the counter and worked the drive-thru at Raising Cane’s in Franklin, Tenn. on April 8 in support of the foundation. Bryan was joined by Todd Graves, founder and CEO of Raising Cane’s, as they kicked off the restaurant’s $1 million donation to The Brett Boyer Foundation.

What is The Brett Boyer Foundation & Its Mission?

The Brett Boyer Foundation was founded in 2017 in honor of Sadie Brett Boyer, Bryan’s late niece who was diagnosed prenatally with Down syndrome and congenital heart defect (CHD). It was founded by Brett Boyer’s parents, Ellen and Bo Boyer, alongside Bryan and his wife Caroline.

As shared on the foundation’s website, their “mission is to fund research that can prevent, treat and improve the current treatment plans for congenital heart disease.”

Bryan went on to share a video on Instagram giving fans a peak on how his shift at the restaurant went. He also shared the impact The Brett Boyer Foundation has had on children’s lives.

“A couple months ago,” he said in the video, “I knew 36 kids are alive because of us today, and then in 10 years there may be 100’s if not 1000’s. I’ve watched our foundation grow with people behind the scenes helping, and then people that step out here like Todd and Raising Cane’s are doing.”

Support quickly built up in the comment section as people shared their personal stories with CHD and the impact the donation will have.

“This guy is one of the few people in show business that you can tell is just a genuinely good human being. Keep doing what you’re doing Luke,” one person commented.

Another person commented, “As someone who was born and has dealt with a congenital heart defect, this is awesome, wish I had something like this when I was that age.”

On The Brett Boyer Foundation’s Instagram, Ellen Boyer explained the awareness campaign ran from April 9-23. She shared they would love to see people tag the foundation on Instagram and Facebook with pictures they take with signage of the campaign in their local Raising Cane’s.
