Lauren Alaina Gets Hilarious Offer From Trisha Yearwood

Lauren Alaina and Trisha Yearwood go way back, so maybe it should be no surprise that it was “no holds barred” when Trisha sat in as a guest on Lauren’s “LA Lately” podcast.

Alaina just launched her new podcast in March with the plan to kick off the show spotlighting powerful women in her life. And Yearwood’s undeniable influence on the singer makes her an obvious choice as a guest.

In an Instagram video announcing the podcast series, Alaina opens her front door and says, ““I am so excited! We are starting a new series online called LA Lately where I bring my friends over and chat with them about different things going on in their world. Our first segment is ‘Those Kind Of Women,’ so we’re talking about empowering women in our lives. …It’s a lot of fun.”

Lauren Alaina Calls Trisha Yearwood Episode Her Favorite

The “Those Kind of Women” title is a nod to Alaina’s single by the same name, which she released in January to announce her pregnancy.

In an Instagram video from the same time, Alaina said, “By the time you see this, you will know that I’m pregnant. We’re announcing it with my new song ‘Those Kind of Women.’ In the music video, if you haven’t seen it, please go watch it. It’s so sweet. My mom’s in it. ‘Those Kind of Women’ is all about the women who made me who I am and raised me.”

And in the “LA Lately” episode featuring Trisha Yearwood, Alaina made it clear that she definitely considers Yearwood one of “Those Kind of Women.”

And Trisha agreed. Near the beginning of the podcast, she told Lauren, “When we met, we were friends instantly. And we found out we had so many things in common other than the fact that you’re like 100 years younger than me. But really, Georgia girls, and like the way we were raised, even the way that we… our path and our careers.”

Trisha Yearwood Offers to Help Deliver Lauren Alaina’s Baby

Yearwood has been present at significant moments in Lauren Alaina’s life, including being the one to invite her to join The Grand Ole Opry.

But in Lauren’s podcast, Trisha, who calls Lauren “Junior,” jokingly volunteers to help out with another upcoming big event.

“I grew up on a farm,” Trisha tells Lauren. “And we had cows. So I have been at many birthings. So if you should go into labor during this little situation, if you need me..” Both women burst out laughing as Lauren gasps, “Can you imagine? If you birthed my child? Honest to God, let’s make it happen.”

Trisha Yearwood Relates Hilarious Story About Friend Kristin Chenoweth

Yearwood also related a hilarious story after Alaina asked her if she could host an all-female dinner party, who would she invite and what would she cook?

Yearwood told Alaina she “would be the head of the table,” and then listed the women on her team, her sister, Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris and Kristin Chenoweth.

“She [Chenoweth] was on my show one time and I had bought this — this is a hilarious story, and then I’ll tell you what I’m cooking — I had bought this, off the internet, this ski suit,” Yearwood said.

She went on, “I don’t ski, I don’t know… I just thought it would be cute to have, and maybe I would go ski if I bought the suit. And it looked like — it was all silver and kind of reflective. …No, (I don’t have a picture of myself in it) because when I got it I bought like an XXL. I don’t know where it came from, but it was about this big, and so is Kristen Chenoweth. She’s about this big. So when she came on my show, I said, ‘would you put this on ?’ And then I carried her in the kitchen like a baked potato. …So I’d probably have to serve baked potatoes.”

In an Instagram post showing a clip from the podcast with Yearwood, Alaina writes, “I can’t wait for @trishayearwood to hold my baby like a baked potato like she did @kchenoweth!”
