Country star Lainey Wilson is letting fans in on her 4th of July vacation, and let’s just say the pictures are a little wild.
The “Somewhere Over Laredo” singer posted a carousel of vacation photos on her Instagram account, choosing a picture of herself squatting down by a large pig in the ocean as her first photo in the grouping. Her cheeky caption reads, “Celebrated America’s birthday with my fam in the Bahamas. No, the first pic is not my sister! 🌴🐷🐠”
That had some fans wondering if the singer was teasing her sister about being a pig. But other photos in the post do show Lainey’s sister, Janna Wilson Sadler, along with her husband and kids. Also along for the rest and relaxation was Lainey’s fiancé Devlin “Duck” Hodges.
And while clearly Lainey embraced her time at the famous Pig Beach in the Exuma Cays, she also soaked up time as Aunt Lainey to her sister’s adorable children.
Bahamas Vacation Comes During Break in ‘Whirlwind’ Tour
The Bahamas getaway comes right in the middle of a break in Lainey Wilson’s extensive touring schedule.
Lainey launched her “Whirlwind” tour March 4 in Europe. But the tour schedule shows a pretty large gap from March 20 to August 19.
That had some wondering if the gap was designed to fit in a wedding to Duck, but there’s no sign that a wedding ring accompanies her engagement ring in the Bahamas photos.
Still, Lainey has more than a month left before she returns to the road, starting the North American leg of her tour in Phoenix, Arizona August 14.
The ACM Entertainer of the Year may not be telling when her wedding will be, but she’s been open with fans about other aspects of her wedding plans.
During an interview on “Taste of Country Nights,” Lainey surprised the host and fans alike by revealing that she won’t have any country singers performing at her wedding. Instead, she says she and Duck will be “going the jazz route.” Lainey says she’ll be looking to hire a jazz band or two for the festivities.
Lainey Wilson Got Engaged at the George Jones Estate
But while the wedding itself might not feature country music, the engagement leaned into the genre in a big way.
In a TikTok video shared by Nashville television station WTVF, Lainey told the story of Duck’s proposal, saying that she and Duck had been ”wanting to go see the George Jones estate” that a realtor friend had listed for sale.
“And then as we [pulled] up, I realized that there were different plans,” Wilson shared. “So, he had it all set up. He had the candles and the picture frames, and it could not have been more perfect.”
Lainey posted pictures of the romantic surprise on her Instagram account, showing the pair on the front steps of Jones’ house holding hands. A closeup reveals that Duck had decorated the step in front of the home’s door with pictures of the couple, candles and red roses.
The series of photos ends with a video of Lainey walking down the steps of the George Jones house, pretending her left hand is too heavy to lift. She then flashes the beautiful engagement ring at the camera, laughs and runs away.
