It’s been a year full of wins for Lainey Wilson, and the victories just keep coming. In July 2025, the Academy of Country Music announced that it is honoring the country star with an award for Artist-Songwriter of the Year. “Lainey Wilson has always been a fan-favorite artist, but her talents as a songwriter have truly shined this past year,” the ACM wrote in the Instagram post’s caption.
The ACM also highlighted Wilson’s extensive songwriting contributions to her most recent album, which she co-wrote in full. Fans in the post’s comments section shared their love for Wilson and congratulated her on this accomplishment. “So freaking proud of [Wilson],” one wrote, echoing the sentiments of many others. The ACM Honors ceremony is set for August 20th.
Wilson Took Home Some of The Biggest ACM Awards This Year

This new honor is just one of several awards the “Somewhere Over Laredo” singer has taken home this year, including three other ACM trophies. Wilson took home the Entertainer of the Year award for the second time in a row, as well as Female Artist of the Year. Lastly, her album, “Whirlwind,” edged out tough competition for the Album of the Year crown.
” I just want to say to every single one of these girls in this category, I couldn’t do this without y’all,” Wilson said during her Female Artist of the Year acceptance speech. “The girls are kicking down some barn doors, and I like it.” Wilson won the award over several popular artists, including friend and fellow performer Ella Langley.
The Singer Will Reach a Big Acting Milestone in 2026

Aside from her ultra-successful year in music, Wilson also acted in her first-ever feature film in 2025. The film, “Reminders of Him,” is scheduled for release in early to mid-2026, giving fans a chance to see Wilson as never before. The film is a psychological thriller, a huge change from the world of “Yellowstone” where Wilson made her acting debut.
“I’ve learned that I just really like being creative, whatever that means,” she told CountryTown about acting. “Kind of stepping outside of my comfort zone and doing things that are a little scary because I feel like if you’re not doing that, then you’re not growing.”
