Lainey Wilson Scores Early ACM Win From Fellow Country Queens

With just hours to go before the 60th annual ACM Awards ceremony kicks off tonight, Lainey Wilson has received some incredible news. As the ACM shared on Instagram, the multi-talented singer has won this year’s Artist-Songwriter of the Year award. She bested tough competition in this category, including Morgan Wallen.

Fans quickly congregated in the post’s comments section to show their support for Wilson, and the singer herself also chimed in. “This is such an honor, thank you,” she wrote. What made the award even more special is who presented it to her: fellow country music queens Reba McEntire and Miranda Lambert. The three have built a heartwarming friendship around country music, and are even debuting a song together this evening.

As Holler reported, Lambert and McEntire shared the ACM news with Wilson while the three were rehearsing for tonight’s performance. The three singers have teamed up on a new single, “Trailblazer,” which fans can catch for the first time live during the ACM ceremony. This debut will be one of the many highly anticipated performances at the event.

In a backstage video from the rehearsal, McEntire and Lambert grin from ear to ear as they present the award to Lainey, who looks absolutely overjoyed. The three singers shared a warm hug before Wilson received her trophy. “That means so much!” Wilson said of her friends being the ones to give her the award.

The Singer is Also in the Running for Six Other ACMs Tonight

Winning the Artist-Songwriter of the Year award is a massive honor, but it’s not the only trophy Wilson may walk away with tonight. She is also defending her 2024 Entertainer of the Year title, though the competition for this award is fierce for 2025. She is going up against Jelly Roll and several other mega-talented performers for the coveted award.

Additionally, Wilson could secure a Song of the Year award win for “4x4xU,” along with several other honors. Fans can see the results of these categories, along with her performance alongside Lambert and McEntire, when the ceremony streams tonight on Amazon Prime. The ceremony starts at 8:00PM EST.
