Kelsea Ballerini Talks Slowing Down After Tour & Possible Return to “The Voice”

Kelsea Ballerini is hitting the breaks and slowing down for the summer. The country star made a stop on the “TODAY with Jenna & Friends” on May 29 and spoke about her post tour and “The Voice” plans.

Ballerini shared how special her time being a coach on the show was and talked about wrapping up her first arena tour, “Kelsea Ballerini Live on Tour”.

“I mean, it’s really bittersweet,” she said. “I think, ending my first arena tour, ending my first time being a coach on ‘The Voice’, it’s just like this–it’s just been such a beautiful season of doing things that are out of my comfort zone and bigger than I’ve ever done. It’s been really fulfilling in a lot of ways. I loved being in that seat.”

Will Kelsea Ballerini Return to “The Voice”?

When asked if she would return to “The Voice” Ballerini shared her thoughts.

“Never say never,” she said. “I think it’s all about timing, and I think part of the reason that I loved the experience, it was just the perfect time for me to go do that. And so, yeah, maybe down the road for sure.”

Following the busy schedule Ballerini has had, she plans on taking it slow for the summer.

“I need a break,” she said. “I’ve never been, like, able to say that before, but I really think that it’s time for me to just pump the brakes, figure out what’s next.”

The country singer posted the vulnerable video the day of the season’s finale. She revealed she has had an interest in being a coach on the show for some time.

“I’ll be honest, I wanted to be a coach on ‘The Voice’ for a long time, since I filled in for Kelly a couple years ago,” she said in the video, “and when I actually got the opportunity, I was terrified, so scared, because I really had this dialog with myself of like, ‘what if I don’t have enough to contribute to these newer artists compared to these other coaches that are legends that have been on this show’, especially the ones that I’m singing with up there, Adam and John and Michael. And I just was so nervous that I was going to be like that, I wasn’t going to have enough to offer.”

Ballerini shared her feelings are nothing but opposite to those she was experiencing when she was first given the opportunity. She shared the experience has been “so fulfilling” and inspiring.
