TikTok Star Drops New Viral Single ‘Sober’

A year to the day after his debut hit “Take It Slow” topped the Texas radio charts, Hudson Westbrook is back, ready to reclaim the spotlight. The country singer is now bringing a new kind of buzz, ironically. His latest single, “Sober,” is a riff-heavy anthem that channels the high of falling in love, no whiskey needed.

Co-written with Lukas Scott, Neil Medley, and Beau Bailey, the song trades shots for sparks, offering a clever twist on the classic country drinking love song.

Already generating serious traction, “Sober” is trending at #18 on TikTok’s Viral 50 chart. More than 30,000 fan-made videos have been made to date, soundtracked by the infectious song. Lyrically sharp and sonically irresistible, it’s a song that captures the rush of real emotion with the swagger of a seasoned storyteller.

“I was in love last night / Better than a bourbon high / That sundress was spinning me out of my mind,” Westbrook sings, the words rolling out like a confessional set to guitar.

From TikTok to the Spotlight

Throughout his career, Westbrook has stated his main inspirations for breaking into the country mainstream have been George Strait, Turnpike Troubadours, Parker McCollum, Koe Wetzel, and Gary Allan. He made a major splash in 2024 with the viral debut “Take It Slow” and hasn’t slowed down since. Riding the wave of early career momentum, Westbrook built a grassroots following on authenticity and grit. His debut Texas radio single, “Two Way Drive,” shot straight to the top of the charts. This immediately paved the way for more success.

The just-released, self-titled Hudson Westbrook EP features a trio of viral standouts, “5 to 9,” “House Again,” and “Take Your Time,” each track showcasing the emotional depth and unfiltered honesty that have quickly become his hallmark.

Taking Texas Country Nationwide

The accompanying video for “Sober,” directed by Emma Kate Golden, paints a laid-back, visually poetic portrait of Westbrook falling hard at a thrift store. We see him flipping through old records and well-worn books while caught in a quiet, magnetic moment.

But make no mistake, the country singer is definitely not staying still. With his 2025 “Take Your Time Tour” sold out and a full Summer Tour on deck, he’ll also share the stage this year with heavy-hitters like Parker McCollum, Midland, Eli Young Band, Cole Swindell, and Ian Munsick.

With over 200 million global streams in just nine months, and 14 million streams a week, it’s safe to say he has caught the attention of both fans and industry leaders alike. Billboard even named him the 2024 Country Rookie of the Month in December.

As of 2025, he’s kicking things into high gear as SiriusXM The Highway’s newest Highway Find, one of their Five for 2025, and a Spotify all-genre Artist to Watch. Westbrook isn’t just riding the wave; he’s shaping the future of country music, one viral song at a time.

‘Sober’ Lyrics

Started with hello darling
Ended with don’t go darling
What you put in your eyes
Don’t say it ain’t nothing
You had me stumbling
Had to be something

I was in love last night
Better than a bourbon high
That sundress was spinning me out of my mind
Turning me on one kiss at a time
I was hanging on
Never had something that hit me so strong
All of the buzzin’ and none of the hangover
My hearts on a bender I’ll never be sober

laying for keeps darling
Lets keep it in these sheets darlin
Why fight a feeling that’s feeling this right
Might have this habit the rest of my life

I was in love last night
Better than a bourbon high
That sundress was spinning me out of my mind
Turning me on one kiss at a time
I was hanging on
Never had something that hit me so strong
All of the buzzin’ and none of the hangover
My hearts on a bender ill never be sober

You can pour every bottle
Down that kitchen sink
Long as I hold you, you hold me
Baby that’s all that I need

I was in love last night
Better than a bourbon high
That sundress was spinning me out of my mind
Turning me on one kiss at a time
I was hanging on
Never had something that hit me so strong
All of the buzzin’ and none of the hangover
My hearts on a bender I’ll never be sober

I’ll never be sober baby

All of the buzzin’ and none of the hangover
My hearts on a bender I’ll never be sober
