April 29, 2025 marked a major career milestone for country music singer-songwriter HARDY, who made his official Grand Ole Opry debut. The night was full of heartfelt moments and stellar performances, but one song in particular captured many fans’ attention: HARDY’s live duet with Ella Langley.
The performers put on a truly stunning rendition of “Wait in the Truck,” a duet HARDY originally recorded with Lainey Wilson and released in 2022. The live Opry duet quickly made the rounds on social media, with fans eager to share their two cents on the Langley/HARDY match-up.
Fans Want HARDY and Langley to Record Together

One of the most common comments on social media videos of the performance was that HARDY and Langley should make this on-stage partnership more official. Many fans took to the comments section of a TikTok video to ask the singers to record their duet, such as one who wrote: “Ella Langley and HARDY now need to release this version together!! Pllleeasse!!” Other fans remarked that they would love to see the singers do any song together, and some even admitted to liking this duet better than the original version.
Some Netizens Compared Langley to Another Talented Female Artist

Although fans on Instagram equally adored the duet, several also made a key observation about HARDY’s duet partner. As one fan commented: “Love Ella… She reminds me of Stevie Nicks with what she’s wearing.” Others echoed that statement, comparing Langley to a young Nicks both at HARDY’s Opry debut and in terms of her overall style. For her duet, Langley wore a flowy black outfit that definitely looks like it could have a place in Nick’s closet.
HARDY’s Opry Debut is Just The Beginning of a Packed Summer

HARDY closed out April with his Opry debut, but that’s just one of multiple milestones the singer will be able to celebrate this year. On May 2nd, his new EP, COUNTRY! Gets its official release, just in time for his Jim Bob World Tour. The tour kicks off later in May.
Although fans likely won’t get to see Langley and HARDY join forces on this tour like they did for 2024’s Quit!!, the singer has enlisted another popular performer as an opener for may of his shows: Koe Wetzel.
