Ella Langley Needed a Hand Before Big Morgan Wallen Moment

Remembering song lyrics can be challenging, even for seasoned country music stars. Before Ella Langley got on stage with Morgan Wallen this past weekend, she used a relatable hack to make sure she was prepared. In a backstage TikTok clip from before the performance, Langley did something many of us have done: she wrote the answers on her hand.

Langley performed “What I Want,” the smash hit duet Wallen recorded with Tate McRae for “I’m The Problem.” Since she doesn’t sing this song regularly, she jotted down a couple lines of lyrics to make sure she could nail it. “Do you think it’s embarrassing?” she endearingly asked the person filming the video. Embarrassing or not, the trick clearly worked.

As it turns out, filling in for McRae at the Madison, Wisconsin show paid off for Langley. The TikTok clip includes a sneak peek at the duo’s performance, and you’d never know Langley was nervous about lyrics while watching it. The singer nailed her rendition of the song, prompting a slew of positive responses from fans.

“I wanted this to be your song so bad!” one fan wrote in the comments section of the video. Other fans agreed, with several sharing their wishes for a recorded version of the duet. Some fans also praised her for sharing her hack for remembering the lyrics. “This is why I love her,” one fan wrote. “She’s so down-to-earth and real.”

Fans Can Catch The Pair Together Several More Times This Summer

The Madison show won’t be the last time Langley and Wallen are in the same building this summer. According to the “Weren’t For The Wind” singer’s official website, the pair will join forces for two more shows in mid-July. She’ll also appear at a pair of “I’m The Problem” shows in August, and then again in September.

Of course, Wallen isn’t the only musician Langley’s joining on tour this year. Fans can also see her and long-time duet partner Riley Green in action for multiple concerts in July and August. Green’s “Damn Country Music” tour is still in full swing, giving fans plenty more opportunities to see them perform their hit duet, “You Look Like You Love Me.”
