If you got a strong sense of deja vu when Ella Langley took the stage with Miranda Lambert to sing “Kerosene” at the 60th ACM Awards, there’s a great reason for that.
Langley was up on the ACM stage almost as much as host Reba McEntire for the May 8 awards, not only accepting awards but performing multiple times.
Langley performed her new single “Weren’t for the Wind,” but also joined Miranda Lambert to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Miranda’s hit “Kerosene.” And that’s where fans might’ve started thinking something looked familiar.
Ella Langley Dupes Miranda Lambert’s Iconic Look in ‘Kerosene’ Video
Langley’s white tank top reading “Mama Tried,” the faded blue jeans, even the hair style, mimicked what Miranda Lambert wore in the official music video for “Kerosene” in 2005.
And Miranda was here for it.
In an Instagram post, Lambert put up a series of pictures of her and Langley, starting with one with Langley in the t-shirt and Miranda pointing to it. In the caption, she wrote, “My fellow dog-loving, country music soul sister @ellalangleymusic y’all”
And it’s no wonder Miranda Lambert was quick to endorse Ella Langley’s tribute.
The singer did the same to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the album that put her on the map in country music. In another Instagram post, Miranda put up a picture from 20-years ago, then a second picture of her wearing a “Mama Tried” t-shirt present day. She’s made the t-shirt available to fans who want to celebrate the anniversary with her.
In the caption, she wrote, “mamas still tryin 🔥 brought back the OG @junkgypsy Mama Tried shirts for 20 years of Kerosene. Y’all can get em on my website.”

Ella Langley Had a Huge Night at the ACM Awards But…
Ella Langley had a huge night at the Academy of Country Music Awards.
This is the first year she’s ever been nominated.
In addition to her performances, the 26-year-old singer had the most nominations of any artist (8) and brought home four trophies that night. That ties her with Entertainer of the Year Lainey Wilson for most wins this year.
Langley nabbed the awards for new female artist of the year, as well as single for “You Look Like You Love Me”, music event and visual media of the year alongside her “You Look Like You Love Me” duet partner, Riley Green.
But despite all that success, in an appearance after the awards on “The Scotty Kay Show,” Langley admitted that the awards show week was a struggle. “I won’t lie, this last week has been probably one of the toughest mental health weeks I’ve had in a long time,” the singer said during an interview.
“Which is crazy, because so many good things are happening. So many things I’ve prayed for and dreamed about,” she went on. “It’s just the disease of my family, really.”
Langley told the host she’s being open about her mental health struggles to help others. “I think it’s important to talk about it and to share that just because I might seem like I’m on the top of the mountain right now, it doesn’t look like that all the time,” she said.
Ella Langley Got Help from Miranda Lambert & Lainey Wilson at ACMs
In the interview, Langley said she turned to Miranda Lambert and Lainey Wilson to talk about her feelings at the awards show. “I was actually just talking to Lainey and Miranda about this. I was like, ‘My imposter syndrome! What do you mean? How can I be in the same category as you two?'” Langley continued. “That doesn’t make sense to me.”
Ultimately, the singer says she relies on “faith and gratitude” to keep her perspective.
Lainey Wilson also talked about feeling like an imposter when she was at the ACM podium accepting her awards, but said she has come to realize that “if something is given to you, you need to accept it with an open heart and open mind.”
