Dolly Parton Teams Up With Children’s Group in Latest Collaboration

Dolly Parton just keeps finding ways to reach new audiences!

Collaborations with hitmakers like Beyonce and Sabrina Carpenter have kept the country music legend on the charts. But her latest collaboration is targeting an even younger audience.

Parton has teamed up with children’s singing group The Wiggles to reimagine some of her biggest hits.

Dolly Parton Reimagines ‘9 to 5’ With The Wiggles

Parton has reworked her hit song “9 to 5” as “Counting 1 to 5.” The song adds an educational twist to the lyrics.

She also unveiled a second song with the group called “Friends” that Parton wrote herself about kindness, community and lifelong friendship. In her Instagram post, Parton wrote, “When times are hard we can make it fun, and you know that two is always better than one! ❤️ Listen to @thewiggles ‘Friends!’ (feat. Dolly Parton) and ‘Counting 1 to 5’ at the link in bio!”

“Well, I just wiggled my way out into the Wiggles’ world! I had so much fun being a part of this project, and I hope you enjoy it as much as we have,” Parton said in a statement, according to People.

Both tunes will appear on The Wiggles’ new album “Wiggle Up, Giddy Up,” which drops March 7. The album also features another Parton collaboration titled “We Will Always Be Friends” as well as a cover of her song “Love Is Like a Butterfly.”

No One Is More Excited About the Collaboration Than Caterina Mete

Original group member Anthony Field, better known to fans as Blue Wiggle, called Parton’s music “pure magic” in a statement, according to People. “Getting to work with her on these songs is a dream come true. We can’t wait for families everywhere to sing along and share in the joy,” he said, according to the outlet.

But perhaps no one is more excited about the collaboration that the group’s Red Wiggle. Caterina Mete, better known as Red Wiggle, joined the group in 2022. Mete has been a fan of Parton’s for years, even getting a tattoo in honor of the artist, People reported. In fact, she named one of her daughters “Dolly” after her idol, according to the outlet.

“Getting to work with my absolute musical hero is beyond surreal,” said Mete in a statement, People reported. “Dolly has inspired me in so many ways, and I know these songs will bring so much happiness to families everywhere.”

While both “Friends” and “Counting 1 to 5” are out now,”Wiggle Up, Giddy Up!” will drop March 7. The album also features collaborations with Lainey Wilson, Orville Peck, Dasha, Morgan Evans, Jackson Dean, Kaylee Bell, MacKenzie Porter, Troy Cassar-Daley, the Wolfe Brothers, Travis Collins, Lucky Oceans and the late Slim Dusty.
