Dolly Parton’s star is shining bright enough that she can easily share the spotlight, and she wants you to step into it!
The country icon is offering fans a chance to be a part of the audiobook for her upcoming “Star of the Show”
In a post on her Instagram page, Dolly is asking fans to share their favorite memories of a concert, a song or a way that the singer has touched their lives over the past seven decades of her career.
In the post, she writes, “Be part of the spotlight in the official ‘Star of the Show’ audiobook, because my story isn’t complete without yours. 💖 Whether it’s a favorite concert memory, a moment we shared or how my music’s been a part of your life, leave a voice message at the link in my bio. A selection of fan submissions will be featured in the audiobook, woven into my story for a one-of-a-kind listening experience created with and for you. ✨ ‘Star of the Show: My Life on Stage’ is available for pre-order now, and is out everywhere November 11.”
‘Star of the Show’ Is Third Book in Dolly’s Trilogy
“Star of the Show” is the third book in her photographic trilogy that already includes “SongTeller: My Life in Lyrics” and “Behind the Seams: My Life in Rhinestones.”
While “SongTeller” focused on her prolific career as a songwriter, and “Behind the Seams” looked at Dolly’s iconic wardrobe, “Star of the Show” focuses on her amazing more than seven-decade career.
In an emailed newsletter to her subscribers, Dolly wrote, “I’m so proud that I’ve been able to spend the last 70 plus years doing what I feel I was born to do…singing, writing, and performing. Even prouder that I’ve been able to do it with and for my fans. God bless you everyone.”
In an Instagram post about the upcoming book, Dolly wrote, “This book is a celebration of my journey as a performer, filled with personal stories, cherished memories, and never-before-seen photos from more than seven decades on stage.”
Dolly Parton Is Coming to Las Vegas Just Before 80th Birthday
Less than a month after “Star of the Show” drops November 11, Dolly Parton will be the star of the show in a mini-residence at The Colosseum at the world famous Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
Dolly hasn’t played an extended run in Las Vegas in 32 years. Die-hard fans snapped up tickets in record time. All the shows sold out in just 90 minutes according to a post on X by Caesar’s Palace.
According to a press release, Dolly’s show will “weave together seven decades of classic hits and fan favorites including ‘9 to 5,’ ‘Jolene,’ ‘I Will Always Love You,’ ‘Coat Of Many Colors,’ and many more, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see one of the world’s most beloved entertainers at the peak of her success.”
With Dolly Parton turning 80-years-old January 19, a little more than a month after her Vegas mini-residency, it’s very possibly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for her fans.
How to Be a Part of “Star of the Show” Audio Book
Fans who want to leave a voice memo to possibly be a part of Dolly Parton’s “Star of the Show” audio book have until July 31.
According to the website, fans can upload their Dolly stories either as “a brief audio or vertical video clip of no longer than 2 minutes. Accepted formats are MP3, WAV, MP4, or MOV.
The website suggests setting your camera to its lowest resolution because the maximum file size is 250MB.
Fans have to be 18 or older and can’t use AI. One fan can submit up to two entries.
