How a Courtroom Sketch Initiated The Idea For Morgan Wallen’s Album Cover

Morgan Wallen‘s latest album, “I’m The Problem“, features a cover art with a backstory.

As reported by Country Now, in an interview with Apple Music’s New Music Daily Radio with Zane Lowe, Wallen went on to share how his album’s cover came to life when he was in his lawyer’s office on the way to court.

“I saw old school court drawings in there,” Wallen said, “and at the same time, me and my team were talking about what’s this artwork going to be? I’m like, ‘Ah, I’m not really sure.’ And I saw those old school court drawings and something just clicked in my head. I was like, ‘That might be cool.’”

As Country Now noted, Wallen shared he decided not to use the real image from his court appearance as it was “too real”. However, the country star wanted to reference that era in his life.

“I just wanted to just pay a little bit of homage to that,” he said, “and make people say, ‘Hey, is that what that is?’ And I feel like we toed the line of it pretty well, and I think it looks cool.”

Morgan Wallen Shares a Glimpse Into His Life

Prior to the album’s release, Wallen unveiled various tracks off the record. The last song he released before the album hit music streaming services was “Superman”. Wallen shared the song is near and dear to his heart as it is dedicated to his son, Indigo.

The song paints the picture of his son one day seeing his past as the lyrics read “One day you’re gonna see my mugshot/ From a night when I got a little too drunk/ Hear a song about a girl that I lost/ From the times when I just wouldn’t grow up/ And when you ain’t a kid no more/ I hope you don’t think less of me/ I try to hide my falling short/ But you’re gonna see.”
