Country singer Ashley McBryde is marking a major milestone with a very vulnerable Instagram post.
The “Brenda Put Your Bra On” singer is celebrating three years of sobriety this June. In her post, Ashley McBryde is pictured holding up her sobriety chip.
In the post’s caption, she gets real about what it has taken to get to this point.
She writes, “Today marks 3 years. Since my last drink. My last time being ‘that guy’ in my social and professional circles. The last panicked phone call for help. The final slip up that caused the intervention from those that love me and the shift in me allowing me to say ‘that’s enough’.
She continues, “The details are known by those who are deserving of such painful information. Gratitude is the guiding light today. Grief is okay. A version of me had to die off so I could become myself. I have love for her and every other version of me that had to exist so I could stand by this waterfall today. Thank you for the ability to stand here. Celebrating by connecting to Mother Earth was just the kind of party I needed. If you’re struggling , reach out. You aren’t alone and don’t have to be. You’re gonna be delighted at how many of us there are. I love you, keep going.”
The carousel of photos and videos shows Ashley hiking to a gorgeous waterfall. It also shows close-ups of both sides of her chip. One side has a colorful skull with the words, “GRATEFUL I’M ALIVE.” The flip side shows a graphic of a sunrise over a hilly, tree-lined road with the words, “THREE YEARS SOBER.”

Ashley McBryde Has Had a Lot to Celebrate Lately
Ashely McBryde has had plenty to celebrate lately.
In addition to performing at CMA Fest in Nashville, she also hosted a three-hour network special about the four-day event. It’s the largest and longest-running country music festival in the nation. That special debuted on ABC June 26 and is streaming now on Hulu.
At the fest, she performed her song, “Rattlesnake Preacher.” That performance is featured on the “CMA Fest 2025” special. The song is a fan favorite, but it’s never found its way onto one of Ashley’s albums or been released as a single until now. In an Instagram post featuring a video of her CMA Fest performance, Ashley writes, “It has never left the stage show….
But it hadn’t found a home on a record….
And you NEVER stopped requesting it. So….
Welcome home Rattlesnake Preacher. You didn’t find a home. You built one. Amen.”
The song dropped the same day the “CMA Fest 2025” special debuted.
