The 2025 Academy of Country Music Awards lit up the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas, ready to deliver an epic show celebrating the genre. As legends and newcomers gathered, icon Reba McEntire lit up the stage and screen through the night, proving how much of a powerhouse she is. It streamed live on Prime Video, delivering powerhouse performances, emotional and inspiring speeches, and plenty of surprises.
Leading the way this year was breakout star Ella Langley, who dominated with a total of eight nominations and didn’t leave empty-handed, already winning the award for New Female Artist of the Year ahead of the ceremony. Her electric rise in the industry over the past year earned her trophies in several categories, cementing her as one of country music’s fastest-rising talents, and for good reason. Morgan Wallen, Lainey Wilson, and Cody Johnson, each with seven nominations, also had strong hopes, showcasing the blend of traditional and contemporary sounds shaping the genre.
Old Dominion was a standout this evening after winning Group of the Year, with Zach Top winning New Male Artist of the Year. Cody Johnson went on to win Song of the Year, which was awarded to the songwriters, publishers, and artists for his record “Dirt Cheap.” Wilson, on the other hand, made several headlines after winning big awards such as Entertainer of the Year and Female Artist of the Year.
Newcomers weren’t the only ones in the spotlight throughout the night. The long-awaited ceremony paid tribute to the genre’s rich legacy with appearances from icons like Clint Black, Crystal Gayle, Martina McBride, The Oak Ridge Boys, and Wynonna Judd. Presenters from across music and entertainment, including Lionel Richie, Chase Elliott, and Rita Wilson, brought a mix of glamor and grit to the stage.
The 2025 ACM Awards proved once again that country music isn’t just thriving; it’s evolving, honoring its past while blazing a bold path forward.
