Wednesday Addams Knows ‘Where the Bodies Are Buried’ in Season 2 Teaser

On April 23, a new teaser trailer for Season 2 of Netflix’s Wednesday was released, along with new photos and behind-the-scenes videos. There’s also a brief clip showing Wednesday visiting Tyler (Hunter Doohan), her former love interest-turned-nemesis.

According to the synopsis, “Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega), returns to prowl the Gothic halls of Nevermore Academy, where fresh foes and woes await. This season, Wednesday must navigate family, friends and old adversaries, propelling her into another year of delightfully dark and kooky mayhem. Armed with her signature razor-sharp wit and deadpan charm, Wednesday is also plunged into a new bone-chilling supernatural mystery.”

‘Wednesday’ Teaser Trailer Sees Jenna Ortega’s Character Return to School

The trailer begins with Wednesday making her way through the airport, accompanied by the Mary Poppins song “My Favorite Things” playing in the background. When the metal detector beeps, she pulls out a pair of brass knuckles and slams them down.

When asked if she has anything else, she takes out an arsenal of weapons. But it’s not the electroshocker, the nunchucks, knife, mace, or any of the other weapons they’re concerned about: It’s the bottle of sunscreen. “Sun cream? Seriously?” She angrily asks Thing, who merely shrugs.

As the Addams family drives to Nevermore Academy, Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones) comments, “This is the first time you’ve ever willingly returned to a school. How does it feel?” “Like returning to the scene of the crime,” Wednesday replied.” I already know where the bodies are buried.”

We also find out Wednesday’s roommate, Enid (Emma Myers), is back, and creeped out by the giant doll Wednesday gives her, complete with real human hair. Another scene shows Wednesday is gagged and tied up, sitting at a table full of dolls. But the next scene shows her free, holding a long serrated blade. “Let’s play dolls,” she says to someone off-camera, smiling wickedly.”

There are new and familiar faces as the trailer scrolls through upcoming episodes, and Wednesday says in a voiceover, “Wherever there’s murder and mayhem, you will always find an Addams.”

There Are Many Surprises in Store for Wednesday This Season

“Nothing is what it seems in Season 2,” creator Miles Millar told Netflix’s Tudum. “Wednesday goes into this season thinking she knows Nevermore. It’s the first time she’s returned to a school willingly. But as soon as she gets back, nothing happens that she’s expecting. She thinks she’s going to be in control, that she knows where all the bodies are buried, and she doesn’t.”

Wednesday doesn’t arrive at Nevermore alone, either: her little brother, Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez), is joining her. “Your family at school is the worst thing possible, isn’t it?” director and executive producer Tim Burton said. “I never wanted my parents to come to school. Wednesday is an even more extreme version of that.”

We also get to meet more Addams family members: Joanna Lumley joins the cast as Hester Frump, or Grandmama, and Fred Armisen will be returning as Uncle Fester. Due to the untimely death of Principal Weems (Gwendoline Christie), Nevermore will get a new principal in the form of Barry Dort, played by Steve Buscemi.

“Barry Dort is a bit of a mysterious figure,” Buscemi said. “Something about him is not right, but he loves the school and he has real outcast pride.” Lady Gaga is also set to make a brief appearance, but her role has been kept under wraps.
