Lili Reinhart, star of “Riverdale” and “Longlegs,” is bravely speaking out about her lengthy battle with a common health condition that can be excruciatingly painful, and offering support to others affected by the issue.

Reinhart first spoke out about interstitial cystitis in January 2025. A month later, she took to her Instagram Stories on February 25 to touch on the topic again and update fans on the status of her condition.
Reinhart posted a selfie from her bed wearing comfy-looking sweats and shared the following text alongside the image:
“Feeling grateful that I was able to share my interstitial cystitis diagnosis with you all a month ago. I still see the DMs coming in from people who struggle with this.”
She went on to reveal that she has been coping with pain from the condition for the better part of a year, telling her fans, “I’ve been in a bladder flare for 7 months-feels silly to call it a ‘flare’ at this stage. This is just my life now.”
Reinhart extended her love to people experiencing the same problem by writing, “I don’t have any wise words right now for those struggling, but I’m offering up my empathy to those who need it.” She ended the sympathetic post with a bandaged heart emoji.
Along with speaking on the bladder ailment, Reinhart is also a skincare and acne advocate.
Later in the day, she posted clips of a livestream she participated in on the night of February 24 for Personal Day, her “dermatologist-developed, acne-approved” skincare line she launched in October 2024.
The actress, whose 2024 horror mystery “Longlegs” grossed $126 million worldwide against its barebones $10 million budget, according to Box Office Mojo, shared that she likes to keep favorite picks from her line of skincare products “in my backpack at all times” and use them as her “travel go-to” anytime she gets on a plane or is on her way to work.

On January 23, 2025, Reinhart addressed her struggle in a video posted to her Instagram Stories in which she said, “Never in my life could I have gotten through this without my partner.”
She continued to thank “La Brea” star Jack Martin for his unwavering support by saying, “It’s not easy to have a chronically ill girlfriend.” She revealed the extent of her struggles, revealing the illness left her homebound at times.
Reinhart also shared there were times she couldn’t walk because of the pain, and became “incredibly depressed” due to the toll interstitial cystitis took on her quality of life.
She finished by saying, “Jack’s love and support has never wavered for a second during a time when my body was truly falling apart.”
What Is Interstitial Cystitis?
According to Cleveland Clinic, Interstitial cystitis, sometimes called IC, is “a condition that causes long-term pain or discomfort in your bladder and abdominal area, along with urinary frequency and urgency.”
There is no one known cause, but the renowned research hospital lists autoimmune diseases, bladder lining problems, and allergies as possible triggers.
Penn Medicine says the condition disproportionately affects women, as they are ten times more likely to develop the condition than men.
A support forum on Reddit shows how alarmingly common the ailment is. The page has garnered over 30,000 members and receives dozens of posts and comments daily. According to posters on the site, frequent UTIs are a common marker of the condition.
Lili Reinhart’s Latest Project Is Comedy Series ‘Hal & Harper’
GettyReinhart’s fans can see her in her upcoming project, the comedy series “Hal & Harper” in which she will star across from Cooper Raiff, who Paste Magazine reported is also the show’s creator.
In an interview with the magazine, Raiff summarized the new show by saying, “Hal and Harper grew up too fast, but they also just got a lot of blockages along the way. To me, the show is all about these blockages kind of coming down.”
The show premiered to audiences at the Sundance Film Festival on January 26, 2025. A release date to the public has not been set.
