Goodbye Vampires: ‘Twilight’ Star Ashley Greene Takes on a Demon in New Horror Film

Ashley Greene is trading in her “Twilight”-era visions for something way darker in the upcoming horror flick “It Feeds.” Best known as the ever-optimistic Alice Cullen (the on-screen sister to Robert Pattinson’s Edward Cullen), Greene is stepping into a much grittier role, swapping sparkly vampires for terrifying demons.

From Psychic Vampire to Haunted Psychiatrist

In “It Feeds,” Greene plays Cynthia, a psychiatrist and clairvoyant who works from home with her daughter, Jordan (Ellie O’Brien), according to an exclusive first look with Collider. It’s already a solid horror setup, but things take an even more sinister turn when a young girl named Riley (Shayelin Martin) shows up, claiming that a malevolent force is feeding on her. As Cynthia digs deeper, she realizes this isn’t just a case of childhood nightmares; something truly dark is lurking. Now, she and her daughter have to figure out how to stop the entity before it fully takes over.

Directed by Chad Archibald (“The Heretics”), the film leans into supernatural horror with psychological tension, which should make for a compelling mix. Shawn Ashmore (“X-Men,” “Frozen”) also joins the cast, so expect some familiar faces in this eerie thriller.

Ashley Greene’s Horror Evolution

Let’s be real; when people hear Ashley Greene, they still think of “Twilight.” She’s more recently starred in “The Immaculate Room,” “Some Other Woman,” “The Retirement Plan,” and an episode of “Wild Cards.” But “It Feeds” is a clear pivot away from her fantasy romance roots.

Horror isn’t new to Greene (“The Apparition,” anyone?), but this feels like a stronger, more intense role for her. Instead of playing a supporting psychic with cryptic warnings, she’s front and center, battling the supernatural head-on. And the mother-daughter dynamic also adds an interesting layer to the story, making it more than just another possession flick. It’s giving “The Conjuring” meets “Hereditary,” but with Greene at the helm.

Get Ready for the Scares

For those who love a good supernatural thriller (and for “Twilight” fans who always wondered what would happen if Alice’s visions got a little too real) this might be the perfect film to check out. Greene is leaving vampires behind and diving into something way scarier, and to be fair? It looks like a great move.

The trailer (seen above) is already making waves, teasing a chilling atmosphere and some serious nightmare fuel. “It Feeds” hits theaters in the Canada on April 16, 2025 before rolling out digitally worldwide, so horror fans won’t have to wait long.
