The 2025 Tony Awards are set to be an exciting award ceremony after an incredibly successful year for Broadway. As audiences wait to see if records will be broken and history will be made, they will be entertained by a range of talented presenters who will join host Cynthia Erivo to create a brilliant night of television.
Who Will Present at the Tony Awards?
“Wicked” star Cynthia Erivo is the host of the Tony Awards 2025 and is a Tony Award recipient herself. She won a Tony for her performance in “The Color Purple” in 2016. Speaking of her role as host, she told “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” on June 6 that she was looking forward to it. “Your job is to make sure everyone has a good night. That is, for me, fun — hard work, but I really enjoy it,” she said.
“Cynthia is a remarkable talent. And with her deep roots in the theater community, we are honored to have her host this year’s Tony Awards on CBS,” Mackenzie Mitchell, CBS’ vice president of specials, said in a statement, NBC News reports. “There is no doubt with her innate creativity and captivating presence, she will deliver an unforgettable evening highlighting the extraordinary achievements of this Broadway season.”
Erivo will be joined onstage by other big names. The list includes “American Idol” alum Adam Lambert, “Harry Potter” actor Tom Felton, and DWTS pro Julianne Hough. Other stars presenting are Aaron Tveit, Alex Winter, Oprah Winfrey, Allison Janney, Auli’i Cravalho, Ben Stiller, Carrie Preston, Danielle Brooks, Jean Smart, Jesse Eisenberg. In addition, TikTok star Charli D’Amelio, Katie Holmes, Keanu Reeves, Kelli O’Hara, Kristin Chenoweth, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, Lea Michele, Lea Salonga, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Michelle Williams, Rachel Bay Jones, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Samuel L. Jackson, Sara Bareilles, Brian Cranston, and Sarah Paulson will present.
Ariana DeBose, who hosted the ceremony for three years, will also present. Brian Stokes Mitchell will be the show announcer.
Everything To Know About the Tony Awards 2025
The pre-award show, “The Tony Awards: Act One,” will be hosted by Darren Criss and Renée Elise Goldsberry. It will begin at 6:40 p.m. ET.
This year, new records can be set. This includes Audra McDonald, who has been nominated for yet another Tony (she has already been nominated 11 times before). Another win could see her become the performer with the most Tony Award wins, CBS News reports. Daniel Dae Kim is also the first Asian actor to receive a nomination for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play for their role in “Yellow Face.”
