How to Watch the 2025 Tony Awards

The award show celebrating the feats of Broadway are just around the corner.

The 78th Tony Awards are set to be one of the best nights for the stage this year. With a wealth of phenomenal plays, there’s no clear front runner as to what’s the best. Cynthia Erivo has the honor of hosting.

While there are set to be a number of surprises, the biggest one has already been revealed. “Hamilton” is celebrating its 10th anniversary and the original Broadway cast is going to appear. Show creator Lin-Manuel Miranda will be accompanied by Leslie Odom Jr., Phillipa Soo, Daveed Diggs, Renee Elise Goldsberry, Christopher Jackson, and Jonathan Groff. Plus many more cast members are set to take the stage like Emmy Raver-Lampman and Jasmine Cephas Jones.

The “Hamilton” performance will be joined by many more from this year’s nominated shows including “Pirates! The Penzance Musical” and “Real Women Have Curves.”

Who’s Nominated?

The Best Performance in a Lead Role race is tight with the likes of George Clooney, Cole Escola and Daniel Dae Kim going head to head among other actors. Not to mention the actresses Sarah Snook, Sadie Sink and LaTanya Richardson, again among others.

Best Book of a Musical features ringers such as “Buena Vista Social Club” and “Death Becomes Her.” Both of which are nominated for a slew of awards.

Even the “Stranger Things” prequel show “Stranger Things: The First Shadow” is being lauded for a number of awards including costume and lighting design.

Shows that have one nomination include the newly remounted “Glengarry Glen Ross” and the Rachel Zegler and Kit Connor starring “Romeo + Juliet.” That’s not to say any of the single nominated shows don’t belong. It just shows how tough a year it’s been with such great shows.

What Time Are The Awards?

The show takes place from 8 p.m. EST and ends at 11 p.m. EST on Sunday, June 8. The festivities will be at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

Actor and singer Darren Criss will host a pre-show alongside “Hamilton” actress Renee Elise Goldsberry called “The Tony Awards: Act One.” That show begins at 6:40 p.m. EST on free streaming app Pluto TV. Find it in the “Live Music” subsection under “Entertainment.”
