“Southern Charm” star Venita Aspen shared new details about her relationship with Jarrett “JT” Thomas as well as his sudden exit from the show weeks before the season 10 premiere.
The “Southern Charm” season 10 trailer had fans buzzing when a possible romance between Thomas and Aspen was teased. “Am I extremely attracted to you? Yes,” Thomas told Aspen, before asking if she was on the same page.
Soon after, Thomas went Instagram official with a new girlfriend, Ali Pereless.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Aspen admitted her relationship with Thomas was “real” and that she was blindsided by his hard launch with another woman. “My smile disappeared pretty quickly,” she said of learning of his new relationship. “That was a lot. … Unfortunately, I think I just got played.”
Aspen noted that Thomas has since “gone rogue and silent and he’s not speaking to anyone.” “He has made the sad decision to step away so hopefully he shows up to the reunion to kind of clear up this mess,” she added. “And if he doesn’t, God rest his soul.”
Several other “Southern Charm” stars hinted that Thomas’ mishandling of his relationship with Aspen may have contributed to his departure. Speaking with Us Weekly in December 2024, veteran cast member Austen Kroll said, “I don’t think that Venita’s very pleased with him.”
Kroll alleged that Thomas’ actions were hypocritical months after he tried to perform an “F-boy exorcism” on him at the season 9 reunion. He added that he doesn’t “see a path back” for his Thomas.
Co-star Leva Bonaparte also referenced Aspen when asked about Thomas’ exit. “I think the Venita and JT of it all was complicated. And I think that wore on him too and wore on Venita,” she said.
Madison LeCroy Said JT Thomas Repeatedly Threatened to Quit the Show
Madison LeCroy has been vocal about Thomas’ exit. The “Southern Charm” star told Us that Thomas was “no longer wanted in the group” after his still-to-be-revealed season 10 antics. “[The show] is about a group of people that are friends or trying to be friends,” she explained, noting that Thomas did not quite fit in with the rest of the cast. “He would run around with that idea [he’d leave] throughout the season,” she added. “When things start to get tough, you can’t just walk away.”
LeCroy previously told Decider she believes Thomas has to show up for the reunion taping when it takes place. “He signed a contract. He’s not going anywhere,” she teased.
JT Thomas Has Not Confirmed Why He Quit ‘Southern Charm’ But He Plans to Eventually Share His Story

Thomas was a main cast member on the 9th and 10th seasons of “Southern Charm.” But in a November 2024 Instagram post, he announced his resignation from the show before completing all of his confessionals for season 10.
“I informed Bravo that I will not be participating in the 2-3 remaining green room interviews remaining before [season 10] airs,” he wrote. “I no longer wish to participate any ways moving forward with the TV show…I will leave it at that for now while I work on next steps to recover both physically and mentally from what has been an extremely challenging & exhausting year.”
Thomas did respond to several fan comments about his departure but did not share details on what triggered his decision. He replied “yes” when an Instagram follower asked him, “Will you ever be able to share your side of the story?”
