“Vanderpump Rules” alum Peter Madrigal shared new details about the reboot of the Bravo reality show for its 12th season.
In a November 2024 interview on the “Vanderpump Robs” podcast, the SUR manager said the new cast is reminiscent of the OG cast members that started the series in 2013.
“Oh yeah they all work at SUR,” Madrigal confirmed of the newcomers. “It’s a dynamic new cast that’s vibrant, but there’s a lot of similarities, let’s put it that way. There’s a lot of drama. See. that’s the thing the old cast may leave, but the new cast coming in. The new people coming in, same drama. Everyone’s dating each other. The only difference is that I wasn’t about a busser when they met me. When they met me, I was already Peter, SUR manager. That’s the difference.”
Madrigal also confirmed that he filmed “a couple of little clips” with the new cast. He joked that viewers “better” see him on the show next season.
“The reason why I stuck around SUR and just was always there always a presence is because … SUR gave me everything I have right now so it’s not hard to manage that place especially with my job and title and all that stuff,” he explained. “So I went I went hard on that part. But I also always play the long game. … I’m still at SUR, I am putting all the work and hopefully you get to see me on season 12 of ‘Vanderpump Rules.’”
On November 26, Bravo confirmed that “Vanderpump Rules” will be completely rebooted for season 12 with a young cast employed at Lisa Vanderpump’s SUR Lounge in West Hollywood. A press release teased the new cast for Season 12 will be a group of “close-knit SUR-vers who are as complicatedly involved with one another as their iconic predecessors.”
Peter Madrigal Previously Said He’d Love to Be Part of a New ‘Vanderpump Rules’
Madrigal has been a recurring cast member on ‘Vanderpump Rules” since its first season in 2013. He did not appear in 11 because producers didn’t want to pay him, he claimed in a March 2024 interview on the “Bravo and Blaze” podcast.
In an October 2024 interview with The U.S. Sun, Madrigal hinted at the possibility of a reboot with current restaurant staffers. He also said he’d be happy to film with a new cast. “Of course, why not?” he said. “Let’s do it. If that’s what it takes to get another show up and running, let’s do it. Just… pay Peter.”
At the time, Madrigal admitted he had “no idea” who was coming back for season 12 of the Bravo reality show. But he strongly plugged his current staff if Bravo decided to go the recasting route. “We’re always dramatic here,” he told The Sun. “It’s the same thing as season one! Exact same thing: drama, drama, drama. Same [expletive] different year. Getting drunk, chilling out with each other, partying all the time.”
Lala Kent Weighed in on the New Cast
Veteran “Vanderpump Rules” cast member Lala Kent also weighed in on the new cast. During an appearance on the “Scheananigans” podcast on November 29, she said, “I’m really excited to see this group of new young [people] just excited about life.”
“It’s all [expletive] good!” she said. “I know what this show did for me and my life, and it completely changed it. I’m so excited to see another group of people.”
But she added, “As excited as I am for these new Vanderpumpers, I’m like, you guys have really big shoes to fill. Like, there were so many authentic connections that you just don’t find very often. It’s like once in a blue moon.”
