The show will go on… sort of. “Vanderpump Rules” is bidding farewell to some long time cast members after a multi-season run on Bravo.
“Where to begin. I was a young girl from Salt Lake City who made her way to L.A. I would introduce myself as Lauren, but because my childhood best friend referred to me as Lala, my nickname quickly stuck. Sur was a place that became home. I found myself not only sipping on vodka sodas there, but behind a hostess stand… it still to this day is the most intimidating job I’ve ever had,” Kent captioned an Instagram post on November 26.
“A short time later the opportunity to be on a show called Vanderpump Rules landed in front of me. I have such mixed feelings right now. It’s no secret I do not like change. This is the exception. I want to say thank you for rocking with us for so many years. This show changed my whole life. I’m unbelievably grateful for every moment. I’m unbelievably grateful for Bravo, for NBCU, for our crew, the entire cast, and most importantly all of you. We rocked this [expletive] until the wheels fell off,” she added.
Meanwhile, TMZ has confirmed that “Vanderpump Rules” isn’t ending, but the full cast is getting a reboot. The outlet reports that the network made the decision following season 11.
The show will follow a group of servers and bar staff at Lisa Vanderpump’s popular lounge, SUR, located in West Hollywood.
Fans Reacted to the News on Instagram
Bravo fans had very mixed reactions to the news that “Vanderpump Rules” was getting a reboot. Dozens of comments have flooded Instagram already.
“Sandoval announced yesterday that they’re closing their bar and now this. He better start looking for a job,” one person wrote.
“I might watch it again now. I couldn’t watch the last lot with all that toxicity. It wrecked my cortisol levels,” someone else added.
“I gotta get all the Seasons on DVD now. I won’t watch the New Cast,” a third comment read.
“Nooooooo,” a fourth Instagram user exclaimed.
A Brief History of ‘Vanderpump Rules’
“Vanderpump Rules” premiered on Bravo in 2013. The original cast consisted of f Kristen Doute, Katie Maloney, Tom Sandoval, Stassi Schroeder, Scheana Shay, and Jax Taylor.
Kristina Kelly and Ariana Madix joined the cast on season 2, with James Kennedy and Lala Kent coming on to the scene on season 3. Brittany Cartwright became part of the cast on season 5.
The show followed the personal and professional lives of the group as they worked for Lisa Vanderpump at SUR.
Over the years, people have come and gone, and there was always plenty of drama had. Schroeder, Doute, Taylor, and Cartwright parted ways with the series, among others, leaving a main cast of Sandoval, Shay, Maloney, Schwartz, Kent, Kennedy, and Madix.
In 2023, one of the biggest scandals in reality television history occurred when Sandoval’s affair with co-star Raquel Leviss came to light. Things never seemed the same after that, with much of the cast feeling turmoil in one way or another as a result.
In March 2024, Taylor, Cartwright, Doute and some pals appeared in the new Bravo series “The Valley.” It’s possible that some “Vanderpump Rules” OGs will make the transition to the new show, which has been picked up for a second season.
