”Summer House” has long been all about partying in the Hamptons, but things changed in season 9. After original cast member Lindsay Hubbard announced her pregnancy last summer, the season took on a different vibe. On one weekend, a gender reveal scavenger hunt even replaced a rager.
Hubbard gave birth to her baby, a daughter named Gemma, in December 2024. But fans still weren’t prepared for the emotional season 9 finale scene in which Hubbard introduced her baby girl to two of her castmates.
Fans Were Moved by the Introduction to Lindsay’s Baby
In a pickup scene for the “Summer House” finale filmed at Hubbard’s New York City apartment in January, the new mom introduced Paige DeSorbo and Amanda Batula to Gemma, who was sleeping in her nursery. Batula became visibly emotional as she met the baby girl. She cried and hugged Hubbard.
Fans reacted on social media. “I am loving the friendship between Amanda and Lindsay 💜💜,” one fan wrote.
“Did anyone else cry when Amanda cried seeing baby Gemma on tonight’s #SummerHouse??“another fan asked.
“I teared up during this scene 🥲,” a third viewer wrote.
Fans Can’t Believe How Much Lindsay Hubbard’s Life Changed in 1 Year
The ending to “Summer House” season 9 featured a scene of Hubbard in the hospital holding baby Gemma shortly after giving birth. Her boyfriend, Turner Kufe, was not shown. But it was quite a different ending from the “Summer House” season 8 finale that was filmed just over a year earlier.
At the end of season 8, Hubbard’s then-fiancé Carl Radke ended their engagement on camera in a scene filmed in August 2023. The move came weeks after Hubbard predicted she could be pregnant by the time they filmed season 9. While her relationship with Radke didn’t work out, Hubbard met Kufe and became pregnant early in their relationship in early 2024.
On Instagram, a post from the fan account @bravooomg featured side-by-side photos of a devastated Hubbard after Radke ended their engagement, along with a photo of her cuddling Gemma in the hospital a little more than a year later.
“These moments happened just 15 months apart and my heart is so full for Lindsay. She truly got her happy ending. Watching her grow, stumble and rise again on nine seasons of # Summerhouse has been such a journey…can’t wait to see what’s next,” came the caption.
Hubbard’s future on “Summer House” is unclear. During an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live” on May 21, she reacted to a question about her future on the show now that she is a mother. Hubbard has suggested that she could film more scenes in the city without bringing her baby to the Hamptons house. “So where do we go from here, Andy? What do we do?” she playfully asked Bravo host Andy Cohen on teh late-night chatfest.
Cohen laughed and said they’d talk after the show.
