Stassi Schroeder Shares Her Thoughts on ‘The Valley’

Stassi Schroeder is more than a little familiar with Bravo’s reality programming. She was fired from “Vanderpump Rules” years ago, after being a cast regular for several seasons, and then she recently popped up on Hulu’s “Vanderpump Villa.” The reality star also reportedly has her own docuseries in the works, so clearly, she is quite familiar with how reality television works.

The mom of two and New York Times Best-Selling author is now weighing in on “The Valley.” According to Stassi, just seeing clips of the season on social media made her realize that she doesn’t want to watch it.

The recent conversation about “The Valley” took place on the “Stassi” podcast, when her friend Taylor Strecker addressed the current season of HBO’s “And Just Like That.”

“I know plenty of cool people in their fifties who I aspire to be like, and I can’t believe that this crew of people … gives me no hope for the future. Honestly, it’s bad,” said Taylor.

Then Stassi responded with, “It’s like watching The Valley.” Taylor agreed, “Yeah, [The Valley] makes you sad, right?”

“Yeah,” said Stassi. “And it doesn’t have to be that way. Some of us are out here not being like this, okay? … I have every night been presented with the opportunity to watch an episode and I’ve still chosen no, [even] knowing we were gonna [discuss it on] this podcast … I’m like, I don’t think I can do this to myself.”

Taylor then suggested that the show doesn’t truly represent the age demographic of young parents in San Fernando Valley.

Stassi Schroeder Wants Her Real Life Represented on Television Now

After years of being caught in the glare of television, it’s important to Stassi for things to be real if she is going to choose to participate.

In January 2024, Stassi shared that she was asked to join “The Valley.”

“They filmed a sizzle reel to like show what this show would be. So once this idea was brought up, and they were like, ‘Okay, we’re gonna film a sizzle with all the people that would be on it. Will you be on it and film the sizzle?’ And every fiber of my being voted, ‘No,’” she explained at the time on Jeff Lewis Live. “First of all, it wouldn’t be a reflection of what my reality is. I’m not friends with any, you know, it’s just, it’s not my group of friends … I’m friendly with some of them. I’m acquainted with some of them and I think they are lovely, but it’s not my crew,” proving that authenticity matters just as much as the check these days.
