Salley Carson may be a new face on season 10 of “Southern Charm,” but she’s no stranger to reality TV. In fact, this isn’t her first time making headlines in the reality TV world.
Salley Carson Had a Brief but Memorable Stint on ‘The Bachelor‘
When Carson first dipped her toes into reality TV, it was on “The Bachelor.”
However, her time on the show was short-lived. According to People, Carson exited before the first night even ended.
Why the sudden departure? She later admitted that it didn’t feel right to start the show on the same weekend she was originally supposed to get married. Carson had called off her engagement just before filming.
Despite her early exit, Carson had nothing but kind words for that season’s lead, Clayton Echard. The former footballer even offered her the very first rose in hopes that she would stay.
It was a tempting offer, but Carson ultimately declined, admitting that her heart wasn’t in the right place.
Salley Causes a Bit of Drama on ‘Bachelor in Paradise’
A year after leaving “The Bachelor,” Carson took another shot at reality romance by joining “Bachelor in Paradise.”
By then, some time had passed since her broken engagement—but that didn’t mean she was free from controversy.
According to The Things, Carson was accused of spending time with her ex-fiancé right before heading to Mexico for filming. When confronted by the other women on the show, she owned up to the rumors and admitted to seeing her ex.
Naturally, this didn’t sit well with the cast. Facing backlash, Carson decided to leave the show on the very first night—again.
Salley Carson Returns to Charleston and Reality TV
After returning to Charleston and buying a home, Carson made a brief but memorable appearance on “Southern Hospitality” as a possible love interest for Republic VIP host Joe Bradley.
During her short time on the show, Bradley showed interest in Carson, but their connection never really blossomed. Despite their chemistry, things between them ultimately fizzled out, and Carson didn’t stick around the King Street establishment for long.
Although her time on “Southern Hospitality” was brief, it helped her transition to becoming a full-time cast member on “Southern Charm.”
So far this season, Carson, who works as a spine surgery robot operator, has mixed it up with Jarrett “JT” Thomas and Taylor Ann Green over her past with Gaston Rojas, thrown an epic pool party, and bonded with Madison LeCroy and fellow newbie Molly O’Connell.
New episodes of “Southern Charm” air Thursdays on Bravo.
