“Southern Charm” star Shep Rose had a question for his childhood friend “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum Teddi Mellencamp.
During an appearance on the December 27 episode of her podcast, “Two Ts In A Pod,” co-hosted by Tamra Judge, Rose briefly spoke about being friends with Mellencamp during their teenage years. Mellencamp said that Judge believed she and Rose “hooked up” when they were younger. After she asked Rose to clear up Judge’s misconception, Rose asked, “Did we kiss once Teddi?” Mellencamp replied, “No!” Rose then responded, “No, okay we definitely didn’t go any further than a kiss.”
Mellencamp also said that Rose would often complain to her about his romantic issues when they were in high school. In addition, she said that Rose was “a nice guy then” and not “a player,” in reference to Rose’s behavior on “Southern Charm.” Rose agreed with Mellencamp’s assessment.
“I didn’t have a whole lot of confidence in the female world. I was really into sports,” said Rose on the podcast episode.
Teddi Mellencamp Spoke About Her Friendship With Shep Rose in a 2018 Interview
Mellencamp mentioned her friendship with Rose during a 2018 interview with Bravo’s The Daily Dish. She explained that she and Rose “both lived in Sea Pines” located in Hilton Head, South Carolina. According to Mellencamp, she and Rose “were friends throughout [their] childhoods.” Mellencamp also said Rose has “always kind of been his same funny, goofy, honest self, and everybody loves Shep for it.”
“He was one of my best guy friends,” said Mellencamp to the publication.
Mellencamp also shared that Rose, who began starring on “Southern Charm” in 2014, gave her advice after she became a RHOBH star in 2018.
“He just said, ‘The only advice I can give you is to be you. It is what it is, and that’s how you can feel comfortable in everything that you do.’ And it’s good advice,” said Mellencamp.
Teddi Mellencamp Thanked Her Estranged Husband on Instagram
Mellencamp revealed she and her now-estranged husband, Edwin Arroyave, separated in November 2024. The former RHOBH star thanked Arroyave in a December 27 Instagram upload. She shared several pictures that showed her and Arroyave, the father of her three children, Slate, Cruz, and Dove, posing together.
In the caption of the post, she noted that she and Arroyave met “16 years ago” during a night out “at Coco Deville.” She also thanked Arroyave for allowing her to become a stepmother to his eldest child, Isabella.
“My love for her changed my life and 5 years later came Slate, then Cruz, and then our miracle baby Dove in 2020. I may be far from perfect but being a mother has been the greatest gift you could have given me. Thank you always and forever,” wrote Mellencamp in the post’s caption.
