‘Shahs of Sunset’: Where Is the Original Cast Today?

Bravo’s “Shahs of Sunset” was a groundbreaking reality series that debuted in 2012. It followed a group of Persian-Americans navigating friendships, family expectations, cultural traditions, romance, and luxury lifestyles in Beverly Hills. The show ran for nine drama-packed seasons before its cancellation in 2022, but the stars haven’t stepped out of the spotlight just yet. From parenting to podcasting—and even reality TV comebacks—here’s what the “Shahs of Sunset” cast is up to today.

The Core Four of “Shahs of Sunset” Keep It Moving

Reza Farahan was front and center on “Shahs of Sunset” from day one and continues to thrive in the reality world. He competed on “The Traitors” in 2023 and on “The GOAT” last year. Farahan and his husband Adam Neely will celebrate ten years of marriage this October.

Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi remains one of the most talked-about Shahs thanks to her outspokenness and independence. After a brief marriage and a miscarriage, Gharachedaghi welcomed her son Elijah via IVF in 2020. Although she once toyed with the idea of baby number two, she told Us Weekly in 2023, “I think I’m one and done.”

Mercedes “MJ” Javid also embraced motherhood after a difficult fertility journey. She and husband Tommy Feight welcomed their son Shams in 2019, but complications landed her in the ICU. Javid now balances mom life with media appearances and influencer work.

Mike Shouhed had one of the most controversial arcs post-show. While he confirmed an engagement to Paulina Ben-Cohen at the season 9 reunion, things turned sour. Shouhed has faced multiple legal issues, including a domestic violence arrest in 2022 and a lawsuit filed by Ben-Cohen in 2024.

Where Are the Other Original ‘Shahs of Sunset’ Stars?

Lilly Ghalichi, known for her glam style, was on the show during its entire run, and has since launched beauty businesses and embraced motherhood. She welcomed her daughter Alara in 2018 and son Kashton in 2022 with husband Dara Mir. Despite multiple divorce filings and reconciliations, Ghalichi filed again in June 2025, seeking joint custody.

Asa Soltan Rahmati, who exited after season 6, has kept a lower profile. She welcomed her son Soltan in 2017 with longtime partner Jermaine Jackson Jr. and published a lifestyle book in 2016 titled “Golden: Empowering Rituals to Conjure Your Inner Priestess.”

Sammy Younai only lasted one season but the real estate developer still enjoys the occasional spotlight. He did make a few guest appearances. And in 2023, he celebrated seeing his Shahs days featured on Netflix.

Later Additions: From Event Planning to Inspirational Posts

Asifa Mirza, who debuted in season 4, now works as a regional VP at a medical device company. Shervin Roohparvar joined in season 5 and continued with occasional appearances in season 6, but keeps his post-Shahs life private.

Destiney Rose joined in season 7 and has focused on her event business and parenting son Lennox, born in 2019. Nema Vand, another latecomer, stirred up headlines after claiming he grew up with Meghan Markle and that she “ghosted” his friend Gabe.

Leila Gharache, GG’s older sister, kept her role as a friend of the show and now enjoys sharing family life via Instagram.

Three stars of “Shahs of Sunset” are returning to Bravo later this year in the “Vanderpump Rules” spinoff, “The Valley: Persian Style.” Farahan, Gharachedaghi, and Javid will be leading the cast. According to the series description, fans can expect a new and improved Shahs 2.0.

Fans can stream all seasons of “Shahs of Sunset” on Peacock.
