Kathryn Dennis is opening up about her life after “Southern Charm.” In an interview with “Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef,” shared on August 18, the former reality star spilled all the details about her dating life.
“You know, I did meet a few people that have been interesting and we’ve somewhat stayed in touch, but I’m definitely not dating because I want to … I know that this person I am right now, I can’t handle anyone else,” she told the host.
She continued, “I can handle me, that’s it, okay. Because I am enough right now. And I want to be in a totally different place whenever I meet someone and want to develop that life because my life isn’t even on the platform I want it on for it to be able to be something I can cultivate into one.”
“I want more kids, like I want normalcy, like I want to build a house in Monks Corner in the woods and be normal and let my kids go to school here and do whatever, ride four wheelers, go metal detecting, go fishing, like whatever. You know, that’s definitely what I want,” Dennis described.
As for whether she wants to add to the two children she has with her ex, Thomas Ravenel, Dennis said, “Definitely want more kids. Absolutely.”
“I would love to have two or three more. But I mean, I’m not saying I’m having it with another man. I mean, I might have kids on my own that way. I never have a chance of anyone ever taking them from me. Who knows,” she mused.
Dennis’ Parents Inspire Her To Be a Good Mom
Dennis sadly lost her mom to cancer in 2019, and the “Southern Charm” star shared on “Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef how she was shaped by her.
“My mom had me at 35, I think. I miss her very much. I’ve learned a lot about her at my house that I grew up in here, right? Like in the kitchen, like I saw how she had built in lazy Susans, and I just was thinking through her thought process,” she said.
The mom of two continued, “I sat in her chair and you know … I feel like it was a blessing that I’m here because I’m getting to know things are coming full circle for me in my heart, and then what matters most, and that’s family.”
Dennis said of her father, “He’s an amazing man, kind-hearted, sweet. Just, you know, whenever I was a kid, my dad was an outdoorsman. Like he’s always out in the shed doing something outside on the tractor or whatever.”
“So if you needed dad, you went outside and you opened the door and you said, ‘Dad,’ and he’d walk in from wherever he was in the woods, you know, man, just good, good stuff. I love, I love him very much,” she shared.
Dennis Just May Come Back To ‘Southern Charm’
In her interview with David Yontef, Dennis said of a possible reality television return, “Who knows, I’ll be back. You never know.”
Fans showed their support in a June 2024 Instagram post. “Giiirrl you inspire me so much. New mom, and I went through damn near everything you went through on the show. Thank you for being vulnerable and strong,” a fan wrote.
Another shared, “I’m watching ‘Southern Charm’ for the first time and, damn if you aren’t my fave personality on there! So intelligent, succinct, and hot damn beautiful!”
