‘Real Housewives’ Producer Says Crew Liked to Film With 1 Cast Member ‘The Most’

A former producer from “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” says one cast member stood out as a favorite of the crew.

In a videos posted to Instagram, ex-RHOBH producer Patrick McDonald revealed that Garcelle Beauvais was a favorite cast member to work with—and he wasn’t just speaking for himself.

McDonald, who is no longer working for Bravo’s production company, spoke out days after Beauvais announced her decision to depart from RHOBH after five seasons. In her message, Beauvais said she wanted to focus on her family and upcoming projects.

 Garcelle Beauvais Was a ‘Pleasure’ to Work With

In his video message to Bravo fans, McDonald came to Beauvais’ defense amid her unexpected departure news just ahead of the explosive RHOBH reunion. While the reunion included several hot seat moments for the “Black Girl Missing” actress, she had zero drama with the show’s production team.

“I could go on for days about what a pleasure Garcelle was to work with,” McDonald said. “But if you really want to measure the character of a Real Housewife, ask the crew members who they like to shoot with the most. You can learn a lot about a person by the way they treat the people that they think can do nothing for them.”

“Any morning when the crew found out that we were spending the day with Garcelle, they were ecstatic,” the producer added. “And they most definitely do not feel that way about all of the ladies on the show. And I’m so proud of Garcelle for prioritizing her life over a television show.”

Garcelle Beauvais Has Seemingly Distanced Herself From the RHOBH Cast

Beauvais appears to have distanced herself from the RHOBH cast amid her departure news. In March 2025, a source told Parade magazine that she hasn’t spoken to her Bravo bestie, Sutton Stracke, since they filmed the season 14 reunion on February 28.

The outlet reported that Beauvais was reportedly “totally blindsided” when Stracke backed down during a conversation about Kyle Richards’ relationship with singer Morgan Wade. “They did not speak after the reunion,” the insider claimed.

In addition, Richards told E! News that Beauvais has ignored her texts since making her announcement. “I haven’t heard from her. I texted her twice and haven’t heard back,” Richards shared.

“It’s unfortunate she left, but I do wish her the best,” the RHOBH OG added of Beauvais. “I think she’ll always do well, so I’m not worried about her next chapter.”
