Craig Conover Admits Breakup With Paige DeSorbo Was a ‘Blessing’

Craig Conover says his breakup with Paige DeSorbo was for the best.

Two months after his split with the “Summer House”  star was made public, Conover appeared on the “Tamron Hall Show” and said he now has clarity on the situation. “At the end of the day, she fell out of love, or I wasn’t the right person for her,” the “Southern Charm” star explained to Hall in the February 17 interview. “I think that’s OK, well it is OK. If someone’s not right for you, you only live once. Go find your person.”

“Obviously that stinks for the person that thinks that was their person,” he added. “But as time goes on, I’ve gotten clarity. And I think in her heart she knew it wasn’t the right life for me either.”

Conover admitted that he had to go through a range of emotions, including anger, before making peace with the situation. “We accomplished so much in three years, we’re both in different places,“ the South Carolina businessman of him and his ex. “She has so to look forward to in her career. I would have ended up losing myself because I would have given up everything to stay with her. So the blessing is, as we’re a couple months out, I see that now.”

Craig Conover Admitted He Never Wanted to Move to New York City

One of Conover and DeSorbo’s biggest issues was that he lived in Charleston, South Carolina and she lived in New York City. They had a long-distance relationship for three years and had not decided where they would live once they were married.

Conover admitted to Hall that after the split he realized that he didn’t want to live in New York.

“The city’s not for me,” he said. “You know, I love New York City, [but] I want to live at the beach and have a back yard, you know, a garden. …I go back to my house in Charleston and I’m like ‘This is where I want to raise kids.’”

Craig Previously Said He Was Planning to Move to New York

Conover had considered a move to the Big Apple. In December 2024, he told Page Six, “Honestly, I will always be a part of Charleston, but I’m starting to love this like New York energy and the challenges that come with New York, and I think I’ll be spending more time up here. So as long as I have an airport, I can get to my meetings,” he added.

On February 6, Conover appeared on “Watch What Happens Live” and told host Andy Cohen that he had planned to officially put roots down in New York when DeSorbo unexpectedly ended their relationship.

“We’ve been together for three years,” he said of his relationship with DeSorbo. “We were planning our future together… I was moving to New York.”
