Craig Conover set the record straight on his relationship—or lack thereof—with his ex, Naomie Olindo.
Three months after his split from his longtime girlfriend Paige DeSorbo, the “Southern Charm” star was a guest speaker at the Philly Home and Garden Show in Oaks, PA, where he said his former relationship was very much a closed chapter in his life.
After a fan asked if he thinks Olindo regrets breaking up with him and if he still has a relationship with her, Conover laughed and replied, “This is like an Andy Cohen question.” He added, “I try not to speak for other people up here so you would have to ask her. But I truly believe in like chapters of life, and she was my first real relationship as an adult.“
Conover dated Olindo for nearly three years before their split in 2017, and their relationship was featured on ‘Southern Charm.” One of their most famous scenes on the show came when Olindo questioned what Conover was doing with his life and accused him of not having a plan. “You sit home and you sew and you pretend to do things!” she said.
‘What’s wrong with my sewing?” the future Sewing Down South founder asked.
Craig Conover Saw Naomie Olindo Recently

During the fan Q&A on February 22, Conover noted that people come into his store, Sewing Down South, and reference the “sewing” comment.”[People] say ‘Oh screw her,’” regarding Olindo, Conover told fans. “And I say no, it all happens for a reason because now I have this entire company and this store,” he added.
“The nice thing she did, when she did reach out after her last relationship, and she just wrote me a nice text message years ago,” he added. “And I was like ‘Hey don’t worry about it, I have all of this because of you.’ And she was like, ‘You’ve always had that, Craig. It had nothing to do with me, I was kind of standing in your way, but you always believed in it.’ Like, she was so nice. And I wish her well and I think she’s doing well. But for me, the only way to move forward in life is to actually close chapters. And so I have nothing but love for her, but we don’t have a relationship.”
Conover also shared that he recently saw Olindo at the grand opening of his latest bar, By the Way, which he’s partnered in with co-star Austen Kroll. The Charleston-based bar opened in late 2024, per Page Six.
“Austen invited her to our restaurant opening and she showed up,” Conover said of Olindo. “And I was saying hi to everyone and I was like ‘Hey, thanks for coming.’ And she was like ‘I’m a little nervous, is it okay?’ and I was like ‘Of course, everyone can come.’ And you know, hopefully, one day I get to that point with…,” he added before cutting himself off.
“I mean, it’s just weird. Breakups are weird,” the “Southern Charm” star added. “You go from, like, knowing each other’s soul to not talking anymore. I think it’s a weird thing for your body to process. So, I don’t have plans to ever go back. It’s just moving forward. And I really think the universe or God or someone has a plan for you. No one’s never not better off after a breakup. Like it might suck for a while, but. I wish her well, just moving forward with my life and I think it all happens for a reason.”
Conover previously spoke about Olindo during an interview on Access Hollywood’s “Housewives Nightcap” podcast, and described her as a “sweetheart.”
“The thing with me, is once a chapter’s closed, well, I don’t like to make definitive statements, [but] I wish Naomie the best,” he said in the interview. “I’m just moving forward in my life and meeting new people. That was Season 3, Season 4. I need to move on to the next season.”
Craig Conover Was Also Asked About Paige DeSorbo
The 10th season of “Southern Charm” was filmed last summer, months before Conover’s split from DeSorbo. In one episode, Conover and Desorbo took a trip to a bee farm.
“I would love to be on a farm but chickens are not allowed in my community. So bees are the next best thing,” Conover said during a confessional in the episode “The Birds and the B’s.”
Fans have noticed that DeSorbo and Conover sometimes called each other “Chicken.” During the fan Q&A, Conover was asked about the origins of the nickname.
“I think she just called me ‘Chicken’ one day and it just took the place of ‘babe,’ or so you don’t have to say each other’s names every time,’ he said.
Conover clarified that DeSorbo’s nickname for him was not why he didn’t get chicken coops in his backyard. “We film a year before you guys see it,” he shared. “So, the breakup had not happened yet. So, we would have got chickens if we were allowed.”
“She did always say if Covid ever happened again she would move to Charleston and we’d have babies and get chickens. That’s what she always said, so…” he added.
