“Southern Charm” star Austen Kroll is opening up about his castmate Craig Conover‘s December 2024 breakup with “Summer House” personality Paige DeSorbo.
During the January 31 episode of “The Chicks in the Office” podcast, Kroll said he was not surprised about Conover and DeSorbo’s breakup. According to Kroll, Conover had opened up about some issues he and DeSorbo were going through before their split.
“He had said to me along the lines of ‘We just had a talk on the phone for thirty minutes. And she thinks I’m mad at her because she’s super busy. And blah, blah, blah.’ I was like, ‘That is like a normal thing Craig. Thank you for coming to me to say something. ‘Cause you rarely do,'” said Kroll during the interview.
In addition, Kroll said that Conover told him that he and DeSorbo were going to spend quite a bit of time together during the holiday season.
“Craig said they had this whole plan for Christmas. And he told me this. Like right after Thanksgiving, he said, ‘She’s going to come down for four days. Then we’re going to Delaware for two days. And then we’re going to Albany for two or three days.’ And then I was like, ‘Okay.’ And then he was like, ‘Then we’re going to London,'” said Kroll.
Kroll said he realized that DeSorbo and Conover were no longer together after he found out that they did not take their trip to London. According to Kroll, Conover did not confirm the breakup until DeSorbo revealed they had split on her podcast, “Giggly Squad.”
Paige DeSorbo Reacted to Austen Kroll’s ‘Watch What Happens Live’ Comment
Us Weekly reported that Kroll said the rumors DeSorbo is dating someone new are true in the January 30 episode of “Watch What Happens Live.” During the interview, Kroll said, “I don’t think that those are rumors.”
“I think that they’ve been substantiated, and I think that Craig knows as such. He didn’t know for a minute, but yeah, I think that he’s fully come to terms with that. That’s not a rumor,” continued Kroll during the interview.
According to Us Weekly, DeSorbo reacted to Kroll’s remark in the comments section of a post uploaded on the official “Watch What Happens Live” Instagram account.
“Ahhh yes a man I haven’t spoken To in 6 months knows exactly what I’m doing,” commented DeSorbo, as reported by Us Weekly.
Amanda Batula Came to Paige DeSorbo’s Defense
DeSorbo’s friend and “Summer House” co-star Amanda Batula came to her defense during a February 2025 interview on Page Six’s podcast, “Virtual Reali-Tea,” alongside her husband and castmate, Kyle Cooke. Batula said she was unhappy that Conover has not cleared up claims DeSorbo was unfaithful in their relationship.
“To not clear up any of the cheating rumors is insanity. Insanity,” said Batula to the publication. “That was still your girlfriend of three years. Like, stand up for her a little bit.”
During a January 2025 interview with New York Live, Batula said she was not shocked when she found out that DeSorbo and Conover had broken up.
“I was surprised but not shocked by it. Obviously, I would have loved for them to continue their relationship and get married,” said Batula.
