Austen Kroll Reveals What He Told Craig Conover After His Breakup

“Southern Charm” star Austen Kroll is sharing information about his friendship with his castmate Craig Conover following his December 2024 breakup from “Summer House” personality Paige DeSorbo.

During an appearance on the January 31 episode of the “Chicks in the Office” podcast, Kroll said he and Shep Rose had a conversation with Conover after he and DeSorbo broke up. He noted that he and Conover had a contentious relationship throughout “Southern Charm” season 10. Kroll said that he chose to move past their issues to “be there for [his] buddy.”

“Craig came over to my house and Shep came as well. And the three of us talked about Craig’s breakup. And I was just like, ‘Craig, I want you to promise me that you aren’t just going to, like, shut off. And I’m like, ‘If you need someone to talk to and hang with, and take your mind off it, call me. Call me. It’s not good for you to be solo with your thoughts,'” said Kroll during the interview.

Kroll said that he and Conover have had several “40 minute” conversations over the phone after his breakup from DeSorbo.

“He’s called me, and I’ve been there to listen. And he’s like, ‘Then I heard this. And then I heard that.’ And all this stuff,” said Kroll.

Austen Kroll Spoke About Craig Conover’s Breakup With Paige DeSorbo in a Different Interview

During a January 30 episode of “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen,” alongside his “Southern Charm” co-star Patricia Altschul, Kroll briefly spoke about Conover and DeSorbo’s breakup. Kroll said he was not surprised that the former couple split.

“The writing was on the wall,” said Kroll during the interview.

In addition, Altschul said she did not believe DeSorbo was kind to Conover.

“I thought Paige was mean to Craig,” said Altschul.

Madison LeCroy Spoke About Paige DeSorbo & Craig Conover’s Breakup in a January 2025 Interview

Conover’s “Southern Charm” co-star Madison LeCroy discussed his and DeSorbo’s breakup in a January 2025 interview with E! News. She said that she gave Conover, who has been vocal about wanting a family, some words of encouragement following his breakup.

“I just told him, ‘You’re going to be a great husband, you’re going to be a great dad one day. You have so much to look forward to, like, just be lucky you didn’t already have those things and then go through a breakup,'” said LeCroy to the publication. “I’m here to hype him up when he’s down—and I’ll do that for anyone really.”

LeCroy also said that Conover and DeSorbo are okay with each other after their split.

“But, they’re still good and I think everything’s going to be fine. I think you guys are taking it a lot harder than they are,” said LeCroy to E! News.
