Bravo bigwig Andy Cohen answered fan questions during an “Ask Andy” panel while hosting Bravo’s Fan Fest in Miami in November 2024, and one user had him look back into the Bravo vault.
The fan posed Cohen a two-part question, asking, “Would you ever allow cameras to be turned on you because your life is so interesting and we’d love to see you on camera? And also, out of the Bravo universe, out of all of the shows that have been cancelled, what would you like to be brought back?”
“I wouldn’t allow cameras on me in that way. There’s too many angles now, as I get older, that I don’t like how I look,” Cohen shared in a clip posted to the Bravo Instagram page on November 23. “And what Bravo show would I want to bring back? Well if we could, and we can’t for a variety of reasons, but ‘NYC Prep’ was a great great show in the day.”
What is ‘NYC Prep’ & Why Was it Cancelled?
‘NYC Prep’ is a one-season reality show that aired on Bravo in 2009 and, following the popularity of the series “Gossip Girl”, followed the lives of six New York City teenagers as they lived their lives and went to different prep schools around Manhattan.
Although fans enjoyed the series, Cohen previously opened up about the difficulties the network had getting “NYC Prep” to air in a 2021 episode of “Watch What Happens Live”.
“It was incredibly difficult to shoot that show. I’m surprised we even got one season out of it. It was very challenging,” Cohen shared, noting that it was difficult getting the children’s parents and schools to agree to film the series, on top of the extra legal hoops the network had to jump through to center a show around minors.
In any case, Cohen confirmed that Bravo was not planning any reboot for NYC prep in the near future.
Peacock Opened the Bravo Vault
While “NYC Prep” has been off Bravo for 15 years, fans can catch up on the old series, as Peacock opened the Bravo vault in April 2024, adding fan-favorite shows from across the years that had been previously unavailable to stream anywhere else.
Some of the new titles added included “NYC Prep”, “The Rachel Zoe Project”, and “Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List”, as well as the failed “Real Housewives of D.C.”
