Andy Cohen Shares His Mother’s Hilarious Notes on Radio Show Performance

Everyone’s a critic. Bravo star Andy Cohen shared texts from his mother, Evelyn, during the After Show of the December 2 episode of “Watch What Happens Live”, with guests Stephanie Hsu and Ralph Fiennes in the Bravo Clubhouse.

“My mom is ripping me a new one over text,” Cohen shared as the After Show began. After Fiennes probed for more information, “She’s like, ‘Do you have any idea what time we may be on [your countdown broadcast with Anderson Cooper] on New Year’s Eve? I have to make a dinner reservation. Or maybe you don’t want us on. I did not like your comments on your radio show this morning.’ And then she goes into detail with her issues about what I said.”

Fiennes pushed even further, getting Cohen to elaborate on the comments he made on his SiriusXM show “Radio Andy” that his mother didn’t particularly like. “I complained about the heat in her apartment, and then she says, ‘Also we don’t live in a loft with two apartments downstairs, or a three bedroom. Also you could have said more about the zoo than Lucy talking about the penguins pooping. It was funny but it’s all you said. That being said we really had a great weekend.'”

Andy Cohen Set to Return for New Year’s Eve Coverage

Cohen will be back on CNN this year to co-host the network’s New Year’s Eve countdown to midnight with his longtime pal Anderson Cooper. Cohen confirmed his return in an October 2024 interview with Variety, where he confirmed, “Yes [we will be back]! You bet [we’ll be drinking during the broadcast]. After what Anderson did in that hurricane [reporting on Hurricane Milton from the scene], I’m not only giving him tequila, I’m throwing it at him.”

Cohen has gotten some heat from viewers of the annual special in past years for his on-air behavior after sipping on shots of alcohol all night.

After Cohen went on a rant about New York City mayor Bill de Blasio during the 2021 New Year’s Eve broadcast, he confirmed that he wouldn’t be partaking in any alcohol for the 2022 show, telling Page Six, “We aren’t drinking, but we’re going to have a blast.”

Andy Cohen Matched With His Family at Thanksgiving Dinner

While Cohen’s mother had some things to say about her recent visit with Cohen and his children, Ben and Lucy, the family had a wonderful time together over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Cohen confirmed in a November 28 Instagram post that his family, including himself, mother Evelyn, father Lou, and sister Emily Rosenfeld, had accidentally matched for their Thanksgiving dinner. “The Cohens randomly showed up to Thanksgiving all in stripes!” he captioned the photo of the foursome in matching striped sweaters.
