Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live” host Andy Cohen has been living in his “dream” apartment in New York City’s West Village for over two decades, but now it’s time to say goodbye. Cohen listed his duplex apartment for sale in September 2024, tapping on friend and “Million Dollar Listing” star Ryan Serhant to help get the 3,500-square-foot sold.
In a November 25 interview with People during Bravo’s Fan Fest in Miami, the father of two opened up about his reason for parting with his pad, telling the outlet, “Outdoor space was the decision! I always have coveted outdoor space.”
Cohen went on to add, “There is a dearth of inventory in the West Village with outdoor space. So when I found something that was meaningful enough for me to leave my dream apartment, which is where I’m living now — my apartment that I built and spent so many years building — that’s what it took.”
Andy Cohen’s Kids Are Ready to Move
Cohen went on to tell the outlet that his children, Ben (5) and Lucy (2), are excited for the move, and that they’ve already seen their new home. “We go visit the new apartment. Lucy calls it ‘new place. Where’s new place?’ They seem ready,” he told People.
Cohen first announced his decision to become a father via surrogate in a December 2018 episode of “Watch What Happens Live” where he said, “This has been an incredible joyous journey with [Bravo fans and WWHL viewers]. I am grateful to be able to live my dream every day and grateful to you for coming along for the ride. And throughout it, I’ve always tried to be as transparent as possible about my life — I overshare and expect everyone to do the same.”
Then, in front of OG “Housewives” stars Vicki Gunvalson, Ramona Singer, NeNe Leakes, Kyle Richards and Teresa Giudice, Cohen announced, “Tonight, I want you to be the first to know that after many years of careful deliberation, a fair amount of prayers and the benefit of science — if all goes according to plan in about six weeks time I’m going to become a father.”
In the years since this first announcement, Cohen has welcome two happy and healthy babies to the world, and has been open about his journey as a single father, sharing the ups and downs along the way.
Is Fredrik Eklund Jealous He Didn’t Get Andy Cohen’s Listing?
During Fan Fest, Cohen interviewed “Million Dollar Listing” star Fredrik Eklund alongside “Beverly Hills” and “New York City” Housewives for the November 26 episode of “Watch What Happens Live”.
“What was your reaction when you found out Ryan was selling my apartment?” Cohen asked, with Eklund answering, “You are so funny. You are always trying to get me and Ryan to [go against each other]. You know, I thought it was a little unfair. There’s a long history with this. I mean, Ryan is going to do a fine job, if he has time for you. You know you, and that apartment, are very near and dear to me. We spent a lot of time talking about that apartment so then when I saw [you went with Serhant for the listing], you know it hurt.”
