Andy Cohen Moves Out of Longtime NYC Duplex, Embraces New Chapter

Andy Cohen is officially moving on from his longtime home in New York City’s West Village.

The “Watch What Happens Live” host has closed the door on the apartment he called home for over two decades and is preparing to settle into a new space more suited to life with his two young children, Ben and Lucy Cohen.

A Bittersweet Goodbye

In a heartfelt and reflective Instagram caption, Cohen paid tribute to the building’s staff, writing, “Today I’m full of emotion as I move out of my home of 22 years. The thing that’s got me feeling the most misty is saying goodbye to the incredible staff of this amazing building. Life in New York City is so unique, and one of the joys of it is the bond you build with the folks you’re around daily by virtue of where you live.”

Cohen’s former residence—a sprawling three-bedroom duplex comprised of four combined units—reportedly went under contract in May 2025, according to The New York Post and Realtor.com. The property included multiple wood-burning fireplaces, a den, home office, and custom dark wood built-ins.

On his Instagram story, the Bravo icon also shared a bittersweet photo of his now-empty office space, its shelves cleared and furniture gone. He captioned the image with a single crying emoji, reflecting the sentimental weight of leaving the apartment he once referred to as his “dream home.”

Why Andy Cohen Decided to Move: “Always Coveted Outdoor Space”

Per the New York Post, Cohen first listed the apartment in 2024, working with luxury real estate broker Ryan Serhant of “Million Dollar Listing New York.” While he had invested years designing and perfecting the home, he revealed to People at Bravo Fan Fest in November 2024 that the space lacked one essential feature—outdoor access.

“I always have coveted outdoor space,” Cohen told People. “There is a dearth of inventory in the West Village with outdoor space. So when I found something that was meaningful enough for me to leave my dream apartment, which is where I’m living now — my apartment that I built and spent so many years building — that’s what it took.”

The move marks a new era for Cohen, who described the new place as “a little more sophisticated” in a December interview with The Daily Dish. Like his former duplex, the new residence features a two-level layout, but now offers a private outdoor area that he feels is better suited for life with two kids.

While Cohen has yet to share a full look at the new space, fans are hopeful for a reveal once renovations are complete. As he shared in the same interview, “I’m gutting it. It’s been under construction for a year and a half.”
