Lexi Wood is officially out of “Summer House,” and Amanda Batula is sharing her unfiltered thoughts. After a dramatic debut season filled with relationship fallout and cast tension, Wood confirmed she’s walking away from the show — and Batula is weighing in on why it’s a loss for the house. She also opened up about fellow castmate Paige DeSorbo’s recent decision to leave the series.
Amanda Batula Calls Lexi Wood’s Exit a ‘Bummer’ After Explosive Debut Season
Wood announced her departure from “Summer House” in June 2025 following a chaotic season 9, which centered mainly on her short-lived and controversial romance with Jesse Solomon. The model took to Instagram to reflect on her experience, writing, “Well… that wasn’t the summer I signed up for but it definitely taught me a lot. I stood up for women and for what’s right, even when it wasn’t easy and I’d do that again in a heartbeat.”
Wood added, “I’m leaving ‘Summer House’ with no regrets (Well… maybe one),” noting she was “proud of the way I handled myself” and “proud of what I walked away from.”
Batula, a Bravo vet, shared her take in an interview with The Post, saying, “It’s a bummer… Lexi had so much potential.” She revealed that the two knew each other prior to the show and had been hoping for a true girls’ summer. “I think it would have been great to have a girl summer, but I can’t control what people decide to do.”
Wood became a standout among Gen Z viewers for confronting Solomon, who raised eyebrows with behavior like getting his toe sucked and allegedly love-bombing her on camera. In a recent appearance on iHeartRadio’s “Chanel in the City” podcast, Wood accused Solomon of misrepresenting their relationship to other cast members. “It definitely made the situation and relationship seem really toxic,” she said.
She also claimed that his behavior created a wedge between her and the rest of the house. “There was a lot of context that would have made people kind of understand where I was coming from,” Wood shared, adding that Solomon “created distance and a disconnect” between her and the women.
The ‘Summer House’ Star Also Opened Up About Paige DeSorbo’s ‘Summer Off’
In the same interview, Batula also addressed DeSorbo’s exit from “Summer House.” According to Batula, DeSorbo shared the news via FaceTime with her and Ciara Miller — and while it wasn’t unexpected, it was still emotional.
“She had such a rough time last summer, and you could really tell her anxiety was taking her over,” Batula said. “She stayed back a few Fridays, would stay back a weekend, she was really struggling.”
DeSorbo, who recently launched her own pajama line and confirmed her departure earlier this month, appears to be taking a step back from reality TV — at least for now. “I’m calling it taking a summer off,” Batula said. “That girl was born for TV. I know we’ll be seeing plenty of her.”
With both Wood and DeSorbo out, Batula said she’s thankful to still have Miller by her side. “We just kind of looked at each other and were like, ‘It’s just the two of us.'”
