‘Summer House’ Star Confirms Long-Standing Rumor About Her Wedding

Amanda Batula confirmed a longstanding rumor about her wedding to Kyle Cooke.

During a March 19 appearance on “Watch What Happens Live,” the “Summer House” star confirmed that “Southern Charm” veteran Craig Conover was kicked out of her wedding reception more than three years ago.

When asked about the story, Batula told host Andy Cohen that “yes,” it was true. “But I can’t tell you why,” she added. “He wasn’t asked to leave, he was told to go home. But that’ll stay in the family.”

Batula and Cooke got married in the backyard of her parents’ Hillsborough, New Jersey home in September 2021. At the time, Conover was newly dating Batula’s close friend and co-star Paige DeSorbo. DeSorbo ended her relationship with Conover in late 2024.

Craig Conover Said He Was ‘Asked’ Not to Come Back Into the Wedding After Leaving On His Own

Soon after the “Summer House” stars’ wedding took place, rumors began to swirl that Conover had been kicked out of the reception. A report shared by The Dipp claimed that “verified” wedding guests alleged that Conover was asked to leave after a night of heavy drinking.

Conover denied that he was kicked out of the wedding. In 2024, he told Us Weekly the story was blown out of proportion. “We had a really good time at the wedding and then when we already were leaving I basically was made sure to be like, ‘You know what? I don’t think you need to come back in here,’” he shared with the outlet.

Conover added, “It was a filmed event. I think if I was kicked out, we would’ve seen it on TV. But to be fair, I was asked to not come back in, in case I wanted to decide to come back in.”

Fast forward to a “Summer House” season 9 episode that aired in March 2025. In one scene, Cooke talked about his issues with Conover and accused him of embellishing the wedding story. “Like, make no mistake, the guy got kicked out of my wedding. He continues to lie about that,” Cooke claimed.

Amanda Batula Is Not Working on Repairing Her Friendship With Craig Conover at This Point

Elsewhere on WWHL, Batula was asked if she and her husband would work on repairing their friendship with Conover now that he’s no longer with DeSorbo.

“We’re on team Paige so if you know there’s no point in repairing that until Paige and Craig have repaired,” she replied. “And I don’t think Craig is interested in repairing the friendship.”

Batula agreed with Cohen that it “seems like the train has left the station.”

As for DeSorbo, Batula admitted she didn’t know how Conover couldn’t see how checked out she was from their relationship during filming last summer “I was gonna say blinded by love but I’ll …I’m taking the high road,” she told Cohen. “But it’s crazy how he didn’t see. …I didn’t know it in the moment, but watching their conversations I see it’s quite obvious.”
