Talk show host and former “American Idol” judge Ellen DeGeneres moved to the U.K. in 2024. Just one year later, she and wife Portia de Rossi have listed their expansive Cotswolds farmhouse for sale. As the Sotheby’s listing shares, the stunning property includes 7 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms, and offers a full 14,660 of interior space. A video from the realtor’s Instagram post highlights many of the thoughtful details and truly beautiful views the property offers.
The land surrounding the estate, called Kitesbridge Farm, is just as impressive, coming in at 43 acres. As People reported, the couple lived in the home for only a year and have already purchased a new property in the UK. The estate is selling for around $30 million in U.S. dollars.
DeGeneres & de Rossi Moved to Better Accommodate Their Animals

As DeGeneres shared with The Wall Street Journal, there was one major non-negotiable the couple had to consider when buying a home in the U.K. “When we decided to live here full time, we knew that Portia couldn’t live without her horses,” she said. “We needed a home that had a horse facility and pastures for them.” Their new home, not far from the Cotswolds estate, reportedly has more space to accommodate the couple’s horses and other animals.
In June 2025, DeGeneres took to Instagram with a funny Reel showing off some of their brood. “We have house sheep” the video’s caption says. The video features curious sheep traipsing through the couple’s home. However, it seems as though this flock is no longer part of the DeGeneres/de Rossi crew. “We love it here,” the talk show host told People a month later. “Portia flew her horses here, and I have chickens, and we had sheep for about two weeks.”
The Couple Currently Have no Plans to Move Back to The U.S.

With one home for sale and another newly purchased, fans might wonder if DeGeneres and de Rossi have any plans on returning to the U.S. in the future. However, the California native is showing no signs of wanting to move back to her home turf. Everything here is just better,” DeGeneres told The Guardian about living in the U.K. “The way animals are treated, people are polite. I just love it here.”
Nevertheless, DeGeneres’ pattern of moving homes frequently is likely to continue. As People shared, the “Idol” alum once revealed that she has bought and sold over 50 homes. “I don’t really travel a lot. So, house flipping is my version of travel,” DeGeneres explained.
