According to TMZ, “The Kelly Clarkson Show” is confirmed to return for its seventh season this fall, with new episodes scheduled to begin airing in September.

But as per US Weekly, sources revealed that those breaks were tied to Blackstock’s private health battle, which Kelly & her team chose to keep under wraps. The show’s staff reportedly knew about Brandon’s cancer diagnosis and respected the family’s wish for privacy.

On August 7, Brandon Blackstock passed away following a 3.5-year-long battle with melanoma. He was 48. Just one day before his death, Kelly announced she would be postponing the remainder of her Las Vegas “Studio Sessions” residency to be with their children: River, 10, & Remington, 8.

As she prepares for her show’s fall return, Clarkson is reportedly staying focused on her children and honoring the life of her former partner.

While fans may have wondered about her recent time away from the spotlight, sources say Kelly was prioritizing what mattered most: her family. She shares two children—11-year-old River Rose and 9-year-old Remington “Remy” Alexander—with her late ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock.

The pair first met at Super Bowl XLVI in 2012 and eloped the following year. After nearly seven years of marriage, Clarkson filed for divorce in 2020, with the split finalized in March 2022.
