The Home Beloved ‘Idol’ Family Member Robin Kaye Built Before Her Tragic Passing

Robin Kaye, who has been “American Idol’s” music supervisor since 2009, was found dead in her Los Angeles home alongside her husband, TMZ first reported on July 15, 2025. But, before the tragedy, Kaye built a home with her husband and created a booming career.

TMZ added that officers have arrested 22-year-old Raymond Boodarian in connection with the double homicide.

Kaye and her husband moved into their $4.5 million home in Encino, Los Angeles in 2023 after it had previously been owner by the late rapper Juice WRLD,

She has worked on American Idol for 15 seasons, being a part of over 200 episodes from 2002 to 2023. Kaye was also recognized by the Guild of Music Supervisors with an award for best music supervision in reality television in 2014. And she also served as a music supervisor on “Lip Sync Battle,” “After the Sunset,” “The Singing Bee,” and “Q’Viva!: The Chosen,” as well as some Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.

PEOPLE provided a detailed account of her accomplishments, including how she “began her career in Nashville working for Waylon Jennings before transitioning into artist development at MTM Records.” In 2000, Kaye founded her own company, SyncroniCity, and represented artists including Andrea Bocelli and Donny Osmond. From there, she transitioned into music supervision.

American Idol Spokesperson Issues Statement on Robin Kaye’s Passing

An “American Idol” spokesperson issued a statement to KTLA following news of the death of Kaye.

“We are devastated to hear of Robin and her dear husband, Tom’s, passing,” they said. “Robin has been a cornerstone of the Idol family since 2009 and was truly loved and respected by all who came in contact with her. Robin will remain in our hearts forever and we share our deepest sympathy with her family and friends during this difficult time.”
