Taylor Swift, seen here performing at Wembley Stadium on August 15, 2024 during the Eras Tour, is reportedly the NFL’s top choice to headline next year’s Super Bowl halftime show.

According to the U.S. Sun, Swift is also the top choice of the NFL. The report cites an unnamed source indicating that league officials want to “make it up to fans” following the mixed reaction to Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show this year.

“It would be historical, and we would make the best numbers ever and get someone that everyone loves and that doesn’t create any controversy,” the source told The U.S. Sun.

The article also cited another source stating that Swift’s crossover appeal would be a huge plus for the league.

“With Taylor doing the halftime show, we would have the biggest sport event in the history of American sports, and one event that would explode previous numbers of viewers in America and worldwide,” the source said.

“It would be a massive win for us, and a way to promote the NFL all over the world at a much bigger level. We all want that, and we are gonna do everything for that to happen next year.”

Carrie Underwood fans have launched a social media campaign urging the NFL to name her the headliner for next year’s Super Bowl halftime show.

Meanwhile, fans of Carrie Underwood are hoping to convince the NFL to select the “American Idol” judge as next year’s halftime performer.

As reported by Taste of Country, a social media campaign has been launched seeking to convince NFL officials that Underwood should get the honor for the game at Levi’s Stadium.

The push began on February 12 with a post on X (formerly Twitter) by American Country Music Chatter, an interactive country music page with nearly 35,000 followers. Using the hashtag #CUsuperbowl, the post stated, “Petition to get @carrieunderwood to perform the 2026 Superbowl halftime show!” and urged supporters to like and repost.

Several respondents did just that, with one stating Underwood “definitely would be the best Super Bowl halftime in years. So much versatility.”
