Working With Lin-Manuel Miranda Was a ‘Dream’ for Slater Nalley

Thrilled to make the top 5 on May 11, Nalley posted a photo of himself with one of his own idols, guest mentor Lin-Manuel Miranda, who helped the contestants with their Disney songs. During the first Disney Night, Nalley got to tell Miranda what a huge fan he is of his work, having seen “Hamilton” three times live. He said he’d also watched the filmed version of the Broadway hit at least seven times on Disney+.

Nalley wrote in his post, “TOP 5! A special thank you to @lin_manuel for all of your help this week. Getting to work with you was a dream come true! And the biggest thank you to all that voted and have continued to support me on this wild ride. We’re not done yet!! 🎤”

The May 12 show will be the second Disney-themed night in a row, so each contestant will sing two selections from the Disney catalog. Miranda is expected to be in-studio throughout the show to cheer on the remaining contestants and provide feedback.
