Country star Scotty McCreery‘s muscles are on display in a cute video he posted featuring his new single “Holding Down the Honky Tonk.” In the clip, posted to Instagram, the “American Idol” season 10 winner lip syncs while rocking a tank that shows off his impressive biceps.
Of course, fans took notice and showed their appreciation in the comments. “Looks like that arm has had a workout at the swim up bar,” one fan wrote. Another commented, “Looks like it was arm day! 💪🏼 🙂”
And many fans commented on how much they’re loving the new song as well. Along with plenty of heart, fire, and clapping emojis, fans wrote, “This is so good Scotty! Gotta buy it ! 🤗” and “Awwww such an awesome song. Love it,” among many other enthusiastic comments.
McCreery Is Having a Blast This Summer
“Everybody’s got a summer that they can’t forget” is the opening line of McCreery’s hit single “Bottle Rockets” from his new EP “Scooter and Friends.” And it looks like the country crooner is having one of those summers himself.
The day before the EP dropped, McCreery posted a reel of him and his 2-year-old son Avery jumping off a dock together. In another post McCreery’s family life is on display, showing the singer, his wife Gabi, and their son picking strawberries, playing outside, singing in the car, and other fun summer activities.
McCreery has also been busy promoting “Scooter and Friends” on which he collaborates with musicians Lee Brice, Charlie Wilson, and ’90s pop group Hootie & the Blowfish. The EP’s title is a nod to McCreery’s nickname, as he explained to Music Talkers. “Back home everyone calls me ‘Scooter,’ so since I’m singing with a few of my favorite artists, I decided to call this project Scooter & Friends.”
This past week, McCreery played shows in North Dakota and Montana, and he will continue to tour through December.
McCreery’s New Endeavor
Aside from playing shows, hanging out with his family, and (clearly) working out, McCreery has taken on yet another new venture. The “Idol” winner is now the host of his own radio show on SiriusXM called “Prime Country With Scotty McCreery.”
The monthly series premiered on July 5, and gives McCreery the chance to share his favorite country jams with listeners. “This show gives me the freedom to play my favorite songs from the 80s and 90s and showcase artists that helped shape my love of country music,” McCreery wrote in an Instagram post promoting the show.
