Scotty McCreery Forced to Cancel Concerts
On February 20, McCreery’s team shared a message on his Instagram Stories that he had to postpone shows set for that evening and the next evening in Florida.
“Unfortunately the Scotty McCreery shows at Ruth Eckard Hall in Clearwater, Florida tonight (Feb. 20) and Pompano Beach Amphitheater in Pompano Beach, FL tomorrow (Feb 21) are being postponed due to Scotty being ill,” the message read.
The team added, “We are working quickly to try to reschedule these shows and will announce new dates as soon as possible.”
The country star, who won season 10 of “American Idol,” has not yet shared any further details on his social media accounts.
Fans were understandably sad to hear that the concerts had to be postponed. They shared messages on his Facebook account, wishing for the singer to feel better soon.
One fan wrote, “Prayers for Scotty to feel much better soon. His health is more important than shows. Scotty do what the doctors recommend! Listen and rest those vocal cords until you are well. Don’t try to please the fans with your health at stake.”

Scotty McCreery Says His Grandfather Inspired ‘Red Letter Blueprint’
In a February 20 Instagram post, McCreery discussed how a family member inspired one of his songs. The caption noted, “How my grandfather inspired ‘Red Letter Blueprint.'”
In the video, McCreery shared, “You know, both my granddaddies were very influential in my life.”
One of his grandfathers, a state trooper, “was Andy Griffith basically,” McCreery said.
“Everybody knew him, everybody loved him. But he was a man of God and always prayed before every meal for the whole family,” the singer explained. “He’s just a guy that I grew up wanting to be like — like my grandaddy.”
McCreery added, “This song was very inspired by him.”
