Look out, Ryan Seacrest is sporting a new look! Turns out, fans love how the “American Idol” host changed up his look in a new promo for “American Idol.” See Seacrest with a more laid-back vibe.
Ryan Seacrest Shows Off a Scruffy Beard and Longer Hair
On January 8, the “American Idol” Instagram account posted a video featuring Ryan Seacrest. The caption noted: “#ryanseacrest gets a sweet surprise! 💕”
Most fans are used to the “Wheel of Fortune” host sporting a slim suit, appearing clean-shaven with perfect hair. In the video, Seacrest looked much more casual, wearing jeans and a green patterned button-down shirt with the top buttons undone.
In the video, he stands in front of a screen featuring his mom Constance. “Surprise! It’s your biggest fan,” she says.
Seacrest asks, “Mom, what show is this?”
She answers with Seacrest’s signature dramatic pause, “This … is ‘American Idol.'”
He responds, “Can’t beat it.”
Fans Weighed in on Ryan Seacrest’s Casual Look
Fans took to the comments section of the post to share their thoughts on Seacrest’s very different look.
One fan noted, “Ryan with the facial hair😮!! But how sweet was that?!! ~ ❤️” and the “American Idol” account answered, “The cutest and scruffiest moment! 🩵”
Others shared comments admiring Seacrest’s less polished look, including, “Love the beard and longer hair,” “So adorable,” “Looking awesome,” and “I like the beard! Very handsome!”
Another fan pointed out, “Looking quite different there Ryan, but still charming as always, sweet that your mom appeared.”
Not everyone loved the departure from Seacrest’s usual look, however, with one fan writing, “That beard has got to go Ryan.”
One eagle-eyed fan cracked the mystery, however, writing, “This must be old, he doesn’t have a beard now.” The “Idol” account confirmed, explaining, “It’s a throwback! 👏”
No doubt Seacrest will be back to his usual primped and stylish self when “American Idol” season 23 kicks off on March 9, 2025. “Idol” season 4 winner Carrie Underwood will join the judges’ table, replacing Katy Perry, who left after season 22. Underwood joins Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.
Bryan offered up some solid advice for the new judge, sharing that Underwood shouldn’t do what he does. “The main thing is, as long as she don’t pick up any of my habits,” he joked on the red carpet at the CMA Awards in 2024. “I don’t want to influence her in any way.”
